Just curious - is there a charge for wifi ? is it available in room ? and how good is it ? - it's going to be fairly important given the fact my phone likely won't work so it's my only source of communication and entertainment. Any info greatly appreciated

Wifi works greats there. The hotel is nice and is located in a nice area, as well.

I stayed a night there and a night at Marriott. lol
