You are usually on a liquid diet for the first couple of weeks. Different doctors differ on what is allowed and what isn't. There is a thread on post surgery checklist that might help you alot. Go into search this thread and put post surgery checklist

Rosalie, All of our doctors are different on post op directions. I was one week liquids which was three protein drinks a day with sugar free jello and sugar free popicles and chicken broth. The second week was the same except I could have cream soups and the third week was mushie foods and no soild foods until the fourth week. Now nine months later I am nine pounds from goal and I still have that same protein drink every morning for breakfast. The best of luck to you.:)
