Stall for TWO weeks?

Recommended Posts

Keep on track and don't panic. Protein, Water and exercise should do it. We have all been there, the key is to stick with the plan, watch out for losing inches while the scales are stationary and your stall will break eventually - and then your weight will drop.

Hang in there!

I was sleeved 8/2 and I stalled for two weeks too, or near to that. I know it was at least 12 days. I did NOTHING different to get out of it.

Well I take that back. I fretted, I panicked, I got depressed, I got impatient, I went 3 days without weighing, i wondered if I was eating too little or too much, i scrutinized my carbs and my Protein....but through it I ate and drank and walked just as i was supposed to.

And then one day it was gone.

I lost 21 lbs the first month since starting pre-op and then I lost only 7 lbs the second month. But despite that, somehow it magically added up to 28 lbs in two months so I thought I better be happy about that!

so frustrating right?? Just be patient. It will happen.

I also have stalled out for about 2 weeks. I increased my exercise as well as my Protein and Water and slowly, I have been loosing again. I was holding some Fluid as well which caused me to gain a couple pounds but have since lost that and I am now down 2 lbs more than my lowest weight. Day of surgery was 335...3 weeks out 307...stalled and went up to 310...slowly been loosing again and was 305 this morning. That being said, like Indigo said, you will still be loosing inches. Even during my stall, I have dropped 2 pant sizes. So even though you don't see it on the scale, keep the exercise water and protein going because they are making a difference.

I've been stalled for about 3 weeks now! I've lost a pound in three weeks! So aggravating! My clothes are fitting looser which I appreciate but it still bothers me that my scale won't move! I lost 20 lbs during pre-op, DOS 8/12/13, SW- 222, CW-206. I wish I would have measured at the start of my journey! Hang in there, hopefully we'll see the scale drop soon!

I'm in the same boat, sleeved 8/28, and lost 30 pounds including pre op, but haven't lost anything in 2 weeks!!! Very frustrating to know that I did this for 30 pounds:(

Just hoping something changes soon:)

I'm only one week postop but I have to tell you, you're putting to much pressure on yourself. The weight will come off in time. I'm unfortunately not able to do exercise right now – or much of it I should say but, I'm doing my best to follow my plan and get through it. That's all you can do. Sometimes the way comes off quicker than others and sometimes when you worry too much about it, the way to stay on. Just take a deep breath and realize it's nothing you can control and try and let it go. I know that's not easy to do but, it's important not only for your mind but for your body as well. Trust me, I've learned the hard way about worry too much and it does take a big toll on your body. Let's face it, your body still healing. It'll get better

Stalls are frustrating and I freaked out the first few times too. Now I know it just happens and keep doing things right and it will move eventually. I use a free IPhone app called Happy scale that I really like. It averages your weight, and shows it on a chart. After a few entries you will see that your chart looks more like stairs than a slide, but it still goes down.

Stress doesn't help, just be honest with yourself and as long as you know you are doing the right thing be confident that it will happen!

I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks pre-op and then about 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks post op. And then I stalled for about a month. No kidding! Them finally started losing again. 11 weeks post op now and down 47 pounds all together. My starting weight was 212 and I'm 5'3". I didn't really do anything different to break the stall except try to eat about 800 calories per day, which my surgeon's PA recommended. :-)

Time will get you out of the stall. Keep following the plan end it will happen. I'm 5-12 months out and still experience stalls and each one is frustrating.

I had my surgery in May and have lost a total of 59 pounds (50 pounds post opp). I'm a slow loser and i don't exercise consistently. I have stalled every month. It is frustrating but I have found that the best thing that works for me is drinking massive amounts of Water. Drink drink drink.

highest weight = 228 DOS = 219 CW = 169 DOS was May 7th 2013

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
