December Bandsters in January!

Kirsten- Well here's hoping the H & R Block program on-line knew to take the correct amount of the self-pay! I remember it saying something about 7%, but I also remember entering the whole amount. I think I figured it would do the calculation. Hope it did! I'm getting a bunch back this year (for a change) and I'd HATE to get an audit. I have no idea where past receipts are.

OK- so for dinner tonight I ate an entire can of turkey-chili (healthy choice). Funny how I think I can eat more than I can. Ten minutes later it feels like something's sitting on my chest. Ug. It's going down, but that's a lesson in not putting so much in my bowl or on a plate, 'cause if it's there, I'll eat it.

Siyah, I"m sure the computer knew what to do! It did when I used TurboTax ;-)

So I am really struggling this week!! Yesterday I ate like a friggin PIG!! :D I had ice cream, a cookie, and cheese and crackers for dinner!! Not to mention some chips/salsa and 1/2 of my frajita chicken at a mexican restaurant for lunch!! I know...in the scheme of things, that was still not even close to me on a REGULAR Day prior to the band....but now....I feel like a whale!!!

And the scale this AM didn't help.....it was up 4 pounds from 2 days ago!! :faint:

I called my Dr.s office yesterday to see if I can get in on Feb. 19th for a fill under fluro and they're supposed to call me back today and see if the Dr. can fit it in b/c he actually has to schedule it through the surgical center across the street from his office....Keep your fingers crossed b/c I don't know how I'm going to keep this weight off if I don't get another fill soon!!!!

My best friend is in town this weekend and we're celebrating her B.day....so even more evil temptations there...UGH!!!

:help:

Hope you all have a good weekend and that your scale is moving in the right direction!

Annie - glad your fill went well.

Kirsten I'm hoping my fill lasts longer then a week! But they did tell me I can come back in 2 weeks for another if I need to. So far so good. I'm just eating my meals.

siyah - I'm sure the program you used for your taxes worked everything out for you. Whats the point of using a program if you have to do all the work? I know what you mean about portion sizes. I have switched to using a small plate for my meals.

Hello December bandsters!

I can eat alot right now. I do experience alot of sliming but maybe because I eat too fast. ANyhow I go for my first fill on 02/02/07. Can't wait. I've only lost 17lbs but I know it's because I eat alot now that I feel better. DOes anyone still have shoulder pain?

Hey Bandiva---I'm glad your fill went okay and your home safe and sound.

kaboom---17 pounds is a lot--don't sell yourself short. Good luck with your fill. I get a little shoulder pain when I have gas, so maybe that's it.

G'day Folks

I havn't been around for a lil while. Life has been keeping me busy, not to mention I had to find out how to find the new thread (embarrassed smile).

We have just had Australia Day Holiday here and I've been away for a few days.

Took me some time to read all the posts. Sounds like a few of you have had your first fills and doing really well :) Thats comforting. I've been kinda nervous about going & of course not knowing how he will do the fill. I can't say needles excite me :scared: lol

I have my first follow up appointment this Tuesday 30th January. I'm expecting I'll get a fill. This last week since I went onto more solids (mushy/soft foods) I've been eating more, so I'm kinda really hoping I'll get a fill/restriction. I'm still losing weight regularly an average of 1 kilo

(2 pounds a week) so I'm not complaining. It's just strange to have an appetite and be wanting to eat again after the liquid phase. If I don't get a fill this visit, I'm sure I'll have problems within a couple of weeks. I really thought I had control of my portion size and hunger, but soon discovered that was only while I wasn't hungry hahaa. Bring on the fill.

I'm hoping to find out more about the type of band I have, whether he did any kind of a fill at the time of surgery, if so how many cc's etc.

So I'll be back in a couple of days to let you know how the appointment goes.

I'm not looking forward to weighing on different scales (mine tell the truth) lol

Keep up the good work everyone, good to be back home and intouch.

To those I've not met before G'day and Welcome :)

Ibreham: - Happy Belated B'day for the other day :) I have no idea how late I am ahhaaa.

Oh By The Way, I could never get the Weight Loss Ticker Thingy to work for me, so I've just put my weight/Loss details in my signature.

CHEERS to all Happy, Healthy Eating :)

OFFER...yeah, it could be the salt cause I can be sensitive to I think, although this weekend has been even worse b/c my best friend was in town and we've done more drinking in 2 nights than I've probably done in the last 6 months combined!! So now I'm afraid I've had Waaay too many empty calories, not to mention the fact that my first fill seems to have completely dissapeared! :-( So tomorrow....I get back on track and try to lose whatever the scale says I've gained the 'old fasioned way' until I go for my next fill on the 19th!!

KABOOM and BANDIVA....Congrats to you both on the great weight loss!!!!

I had my first fill one week ago and I really do not feel much restriction at all. My doctor would not do the initial fill until 6 weeks after surgery and did 1 cc. He won't do the 2nd for another 5 weeks. I feel like I am able to eat about anything. I can eat chicken and beef if its marinated or in some kind of sauce which isn't a great idea for weight loss. I got some chicken stuck thursday and then did a dumb thing and took a couple drinks of cold Water thinking I would help it slide down. It was like the pressure of the chicken and then a brain freeze only in my esophagus. I was sooo miserable. I finally put my finger down my throat and the water came up and that helped. I don't ever want to do that again. I hope most of you are feeling more restriction than I am. I keep telling myself to have patience.

KariWI: Has it been 6 weeks since your surgery?

I experienced that stuck food thing or the overeating thing tonight. I was eating fried rice, I think it was a mixture of eating too fast and too much. Too much BTW was about a cup. First I started with a full pain, then this major pressure, I had no choice but to bring it up. I'm with you it was totally aweful. It's like one of the worst hangovers when you feel like you want to die at that moment. I see my Dr/Specialist tomorrow & hopefully will get a fill/restriction  I'm still trying to re learn what I can and can't eat, now that I can eat.

kaboom: I still get occassional shoulder pain, but mostly in my right shoulder. It's 6 weeks to the day tomorrow since I had surgery. It's often there all the time, but increases at times, after meals. I wonder if it's still gas pains??

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
