Did anyone keep a book?

Recommended Posts

Book, binder, journal!! All, some or one?

I'm starting a binder to keep all the info I find important from the boards. I am going to print out the posts that really helped me and keep them so if I ever need to go back to something I don't have to scroll through hundreds of pages. I will keep my before pics for when I feel I need to control my cravings close at hand so I can keep myself accountable.

Did anyone keep anything like this?

I have a notebook in Evernote where I have kept all that type of information that is important to me that I want quick reference to. It is easily searchable and has personally been a great resource tool for me.

I am keeping a binder. In it I have my doctors plan and info. But has gone so far beyond that. I have recipes for each stage. I have fitness info, suggestions, and plans. I have inspirational quotes. I have found printable logs for my food, exercise, and designed my on journal pages. It's all girly and customize just for me. Everything I find here or on my FB support groups I save and copy it and put it in my binder. It out grew my first binder and I got a lot bigger binder for it. It's so inspirational. I have every thing at my finger tips. I love it and think it has really helped me so far in the process of gathering info. I feel it will help keep me accountable and encouraged. I think it's an awesome Idea for you!!!

I started an excel workbook.

Tab 1:

1) track weight loss per month versus my forecasted goal

2) track weight loss per week versus my forecasted goal

3) track BMI and current BMI ratings

4) track chest, arm and waist measurements per month versus my forecated goals

5) I chart via a contol charts to see if I'm loosing to much or gaining weight, so I can change what I eat to prevent any additional shifts. I'm a 6-sigma Black Belt geek.

Tab 2:

1) track my clothing size per month versus my forecasted goals

Whatever method you use, make sure you like tracking via that method or you might stop tracking.

I'm like Diesel. All mine is on an Excel Worksheet with V-Look-up functionality to track my intake, losses/gains and associated measurements. As for advice from people on here, I kinda like hunting for whatever is on my mind at that moment. If I get really bored in time, I may embed photos into another summary worksheet... and on that note, I think I need to get out more! :|

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
