Too much food making me angry

Recommended Posts

Okay, it's happening. Watching restaurant serving sizes is making me angry.

Who could possibly have eaten all this much food for Breakfast? Even pre-sleeve, I know I couldn't have finished a third of it.

Kind of makes me angry now how every restaurant in this country appears to be doing its part to make us overweight.

I ordered 2 eggs with ham. See what I got? Way more than 2 eggs, a thick chunk of ham, hash browns and toast.

See what I was able to eat? All the rest will go down the trash. What a waste.

Maybe I should try that. They didn't have a kids menu either. Just look at all that food! Ridiculous right?

It is hard to watch others eating that much food....I take home the leftovers usually and I have two or three more meals out of it....which makes me feel better about it, less of an impact my pocketbook

Unfortunately I could polish that off very easily ... I need to be sleeved.

I usually end up with three or four meals from my order when eating out. My daughter in law saves me the plastic baby food containers with lids ( she has twin boys so goes thru a lot). They work perfectly and I freeze the portions.

I'm in a hotel room and flying back home this evening so can't even do leftovers :(

In which case you may appreciate the sleeve even more than I do--and I REALLY love mine. See how little I could eat? Granted I'm only 6 weeks out but still...it's a relief to not even have to wonder if I should eat more. When is your surgery?

I'm hoping to have my info submitted to the insurance co in about one month.

I'm a big fan of ordering off the appetizers menu nowadays. But I agree that restaurants are overfeeding us with fat, sugar and salt because that's how they keep customers coming. It's an addictive combination and they know it.

I love ordering eggs a la carte.....or as an addition to someone who I'm dining with. It's so cheap and I don't have left over food......:P

The portions are beyond ridiculous. I order Apps or A-la-cart most times. I tend to order alot of kids meals as well. I've only had 2 restaurants deny me. I do love the leftovers, but when you're out of town and don't have a refrigerator in your room, not so easy. In those cases, I find the smallest A-la-cart or app I can.

I struggle when I travel for business and order in hotels. Going out to restaurants is easier because they have a bit more variety. Yesterday we were working through lunch. The menu basically had Soup, salad, and sandwiches. I did turkey pastrami, meat only. No bread, cheese, veggies, sides. I guess that just sounded stupid to the chef so he sent pastrami, cheese, veggies, fruit, and a set of Condiments.

Really? More waste. I know they mean well and I should just take a chill pill. :)

I think the thing that strikes me more about that plate, is the lack of color....

I know that you can't eat veggies yet, but for the average American that is a typical meal of beige type food...

That was the other thing. The kids menu had not one Protein laden thing on it. Apparently kids only eat French toast, waffles, and pancakes around here. We make our son eat Protein first because otherwise, like us pre-sleeve, he'd prob live on carbs if we let him.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
