Is it BECAUSE we are BAND TO SLEEVE PEOPLE THAT : some of you had to drink "GASTROGAFFIN DYE " to see how it passed through the Sleeve BEFORE leaving

WHO ARE YOU? If this happened to you ? Tell us about it. I can put up with needles before you asked me to drink something. I would rather take a shot than you ask me to drink something that will make me Gag!!!! yuk!!! Than I thought. Maybe it is just Band people that have to do this.. They want to check to see if the Band left us with any damage, before they send us home. So give us a shout out if you went through this. We need to know. So we can get ready for the "shake MONSTER"... YUK, YUK....

Omg y'all are cracking me up and freaking me outta the same time! LOL

How much are we going to have to drink, depending in that I would suggest ask if they have any that is cold and make sure it is mixed up good then try to choke it down. The long the contrast sits the more the medication in it sinks to the bottom and taste even worse.

As anyone done the dye test and FOUND a leak and if sooo what did they do the repair it.

Much love for you guys!

I had to drink it. It wasn't that bad. Surgery Monday. Test Tuesday in front of an XRay machine. And there was a bubble, so I had to do it again. But I passed, and then they let me DRINK! It's all a matter of degree. It's not like you didn't just have surgery that hurt, what's a little bad taste? You'd rather know it leaks before you leave!

I had to drink 2 drinks (1 a Nyquil type drink - 2 sips - and the chalky barium stuff - just 1 gulp). As soon as I got back to my room they had to give me Zofran in my IV for the nausea, the only time I got it. My dr was there waiting for me to look at my leak test on the computer thats always planted in my room (wow, hospitals sure have changed since I was a nurse in 1990-1999) and I couldn't even talk to him for about 15 minutes till the meds kicked in.

I think everyone gets the leak test. It's not looking for lapband damage, it's looking for staple line leaks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
