recommend a liquid brand of glucosamine chondroitin MSM?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a liquid brand of glucosamine chondroitin MSM? I take Osteo Bi-flex brand in pill form now for joint pain, but they do not appear to make the formula in liquid form. I take two a day, and they are big horse pills, which will be a problem swallowing after surgery.

I cannot recommend one but I would urge you to google chondritin and joint pain. Consumer reports had an article saying the glucosamine really helps, the chondritin does absolutely nothing except inflate the price. Again, not my opinion because I am completely ignorant on. This issue, I just remember stupid stuff I read for no reason :)

And actually I lied because if you are okay with just glucosamine, then I have read rave reviews on joint juice which they sell at costco. My husband's friend also swears by it, but again, not my personal experience.

Thanks, Gamer Girl... I too have read Consumer Reports and lots of other conflicting research on this issue. It also seems that glucosamine sulfate is preferable to the more typical glucosamine hydrochloride. I just hate to mess with the formula that has been working for me. But I am going to be forced to think about it now. I will check out joint juice at costco. Thanks again..... Diana 49

I never received any relief from glucosamine/MSM. The only thing that has ever helped is the MegaRed Joint Care. It has Krill Oil and hyaluronic acid, which is the same stuff I have injected into my knees every year (Orthovisc). They sell it at costco and on Amazon. http://www.schiffmegared.com/megared-joint-care-30-count

That's interesting. I already take krill oil, and I am reading that glucosamine increases the body's production of hyaluronic acid. Makes me wonder which of my supplements may actually be working best for osteoarthritis, or whether the combo of all of it is what is effective. Thanks for your input to this ongoing research project! Diana 49

I've read so much about fish oil and krill oil reducing joint inflammation. My CRP levels stay the same no matter how much of it I take and the pain used to be the same. Apart from serious meds, the only thing that has helped them is no sugar, no simple carbs. But I know this isn't everyone's experience. A LOT of people report relief with fish oil.

I take a powdered drink mix called Joint juice. Tastes good.

Thanks ... That's the second recommendation I've received for that one.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
