Just had surgery yesterday. Feeling pretty good. Minimal pain, but super gassy. Waiting to get my leak test. If everything looks good, home today!

Prayers to everyone getting sleeved in October. I was sleeved in Monday the 21st. I lost 10 lgs pre pop and have actually gained 2lbs since surgery. That sucks but I'm trying not to get discouraged

So how has it been for you this week? How are you doing taking on fluids?

Sip sip sip all day long and walking 5-10 min every couple hours. I feel so full I don't know how I could possibly drink any more than I am

Don't get discouraged about the gain. My doctor said that you can actually gain up to 10lbs post op because of all of the fluids from your IV's. It will be gone in no time :-)

No kidding. They pumped four bags of fluids plus other meds in me while I was there. I felt like a Water bag. They wanted to see me pee before they would discharge me. If I didn't pee that evening after surgery they threatened to put the catheter back in. Needless to say I forced it out.

Hi Jane my mom is doing great right now. I was so happy today when they said we were going to the hotel.

I'm so glad! You were very brave getting it done together :-)

Yes it was quite the experience. Seeing her so sick brought me down a lot but when I woke this morning and saw her sleeping in her bed I was happy. It was such a drastic change over night even. I have to admit at one point she looked so bad and I'm not religious but I closed my eyes and prayed.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
