October Sleevers - Who else

Recommended Posts

Thanks! I'm surprised with how low the pain is. Just felt like I've been exercising lol. My mom had hers done today too but she's having some issues with her breathing and throat. But all should be well we've been told. They think she had the star of a flu or cold.

Prayers for my mom and speedy recovery.

Are you and your mum in the same hospital? It must be hard to look after yourself when you are worrying... Take care, and hope your mum is better soon.

I got my date (October 15th) and my insurance approval. I'm excited and nervous. Who else is being sleeved in October?

How you doing?

Hello All! My surgery date is October 30th. Insurance is not covering so I am self pay status. I'm nervous and excited at the same time.

Scheduled for the 29th - first day of liquid diet - not too bad - hope the rest of the week follows suit!

Congrats to all of those who have been sleeved - I hope I am as lucky as those who have come out w no complications pain or nausea.

Yes we are In the same hospital. She had hers done right after me. I am worrying but the doctors say it's all gonna be fine. Good thing is we are in the same room also :)

Today was my last day (I hope) of requesting a seatbelt extension for a flight!!! No more travel until next year... And by then my Oct 21 surgery date starts to see the health improve and the waist go down!!!

Did you see the story about the big guy here in NZ who bought 2 plane tickets? - They gave him 2 seats in 2 different rows!

I was really crook for the first 24 hours also - then I started to rapidly improve. Sending positive thoughts to you and your mum.

I think it was just a mistake. The man was not impressed, but I did see the funny side. Mind you, it wouldn't be funny if it was me!

Halloween for me. I think I'm reading too much. Starting to think I shouldn't go through with it.

I know the feeling! Mine is on the 31st and I had pre op class today. My mind is reeling, I know its the right choice but I am still stressing about it!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
