Swallowing to much air!

Hi everyone! This is my first post. I am 3 days post op and am down 23 lb. 15 on my pre-op diet and 8lbs since surgery. I am doing great so far, except for the fact is that I am swallowing wayyyy to much air and burp it back up constantly. And as most of you know it hurts!.. I have suffered from GURD for 15 years prior to surgery and am just realizing with this surgery that I had swallow air as a reflex against heart burn irritation. Any body got a suggestion to stop this nasty habit?

welcome! but I don't have ideas...

Welcome! Maybe try smaller sips. Also I noticed it depends on how close together I sip that also gives me air. What I had to do was take a mouthful of liquid and then slowly sip that down (in many sips).

If I try to sip each individual sip straight from my cup, I get lots of air. Hope this helps.
