I pretty much eat what I want. I can't say I 'cheat' per se, but I have the occasional Cheeto, a fun size candy bar or an Oreo, if my carbs allow me. I eat a lot of meat and cheese and still have my Protein Shakes. I have given up bread and rice and eat very little Pasta (whole grain only). I had a 1/4 cup of Fruity Pebbles the other day and that was enough to fill me up :) I don't feel like I'm restricted from the type of food, just the amount I eat. I was sleeved on 05/06/13 and I'm 52 lbs down!

Jessica what are you keeping your carbs under? I haven't eaten any of those kinds of things and I'm not losing as well as you. I finally had a piece of whole grain toast this week but no "bad" carbs. I think I need to eat more and start eating some green vegetables.

Vegasneon, I'm losing about the same rate as you. I don't eat bread, Pasta or rice, no sugar but then again I've always lost weight slowly. I'm happy with 40 lbs gone, it can come off slowly as long as it comes off. I eat Protein and veggies for lunch and dinner, and mostly eggbeater with veggies and a little cheese for Breakfast. Once a week I allow myself 2 cups of popcorn, that's my treat. Doc says I'm doing well so I'm not worried. And I was sleeved on 5/14/13. Tonight I had 1/2 cup of sugar free vanilla ice cream and it was wonderful. however it will only be an occasional treat out were it's portion controlled.

My surgery was 5/17. I lost 45 lbs prior to surgery, and 30 since, but the last 30 have been much more noticeable (I'm wearing size 8 jeans today!).

I try to stick to the plan. Lean meats, eggs, cheese, fruits and veggies. I have tried rice, bread, etc. occasionally and nothing seems to bother me. So much so that I ate an entire mini Cinnabon without any problem. But I was on vacation and I won't be doing that again anytime soon.

I gave up shakes almost immediately and glad for it. I don't eat or drink particularly slow, just not together. No issues with Vitamins, grown to look forward to my "candy" chewable Calcium.

My lab work numbers were all spot on and my Iron was so good I donated blood last week.

No regrets here!

I keep them at 40 or less, per my surgeon. It's very hard. Today I'm over by 3, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I had a bad week at work and even worse day today, so it's stressing me out. I rode 9.5 miles on the bike in 30 mins today to work out some aggression and burned off everything I ate!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
