Sleevers by profession.

Recommended Posts

My first post here, been reading for months. Seems a lot of people posting are in the medical field. I thought it would be cool to hear what fellow sleevers do for a living.

The wife and I are both Respiratory Therapists here in Michigan. I am just starting this journey with my 8 hour information seminar ( pre-op ) scheduled for later this month. My better half was sleeved the end of April. She is doing awesome. Down 84 lbs total including the pre-op weight loss.

Im so excited to get my life back after getting this incredible weight loss tool.

Hope to hear from you guys.

Interesting thread. I am a computer consultant living in Chicago. I travel around the country setting up Human Resources systems.

Sleeved 5/5/13. Down 47 lbs today, and I have my life back!

I'm in Public Health (Environmental, Registered Sanitarian)

I'm just over 2 weeks out and am doing great. Had no complications, incisions are closed, and I started back to work this morning (1/2 time for a week, back to 100% on Monday) Down about 8lbs since the morning before surgery (around 17 if you start counting from after surgery with all the IV fluids on board)

Glad to hear your wife is doing well and I wish you the best as you work toward a better and healthier life!

I always notice there are a LOT of nurses and other medical professionals.

I however am a switchboard operator at a hotel & casino.

I am a nursing student. As a future nurse I felt that it would be hypocritical to be over weight while trying to help my patients live healthier lives.

Plus all the work conditions really wear down the body I don't wanna be in my late 30s early 40s not able to function as well as I need to because of the added weight.

I am an ultrasound technologist in Northern California. I agree there seems to be a lot of people in the health profession on this site. Good luck with your surgery.

Good morning all, this is my first post although I've been lurking since February. I'm a legal secretary in WA state. I am planning on booking my surgery through Dr. Garcia for December, probably mid month.

I'm a SAHM to 3 kids, ages 3 -10. In a prior life, I was a lawyer. In a future life, I'm thinking about becoming a patient advocate. Unfortunately, I have lots of experience doing it on behalf of my oldest child.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
