I can relate and how, I was at my worst the 6 months prior to my surgery I ate myself into oblivion before surgery I had a major crisis happen at the beginning of the year which didnt help but every day was a party I went over 300 lbs which was my delivery weight at 9 months pregnant and left hospital at 275 this time no baby and morphed to 341. Do yourself a favor dont be silly like I was , yes I took the 41 lbs off but had I started at 280 I would be in such a better place now and I beat myself up for giving up on me and allowing that to happen. My excuse was I wont be able to eat again. So I thought , but Im here to tell you different I can eat and sad to say alot, I have to really watch myself and my portions it gets easier each day. I can now eat a whole yogurt when 3 weeks ago I could only do half at a sitting. So try to keep it real dont sabbotage yourself like I did cause yes the weight will come off but you have that much more to loose. Good luck to you, and stay strong

Yes i know deep down im making it harder on myself so i keep asking my self why cant i stop? But i guess if i could i wouldnt be getting the surgery in the first place it has to be a matter of mind control so i hve to just stop nd instead of thinkin what i cant hve i need to think what i want which is good results because i find my sel crying after i eat i know its so wrong nd i totally understand what ur saying i feel that several major life crisis' in my life got me to this point that i am at now i havnt bought a scale yet but a month ago i was 220 i feel like i hve gained about 10 pounds or more i dont know i just know i feel heavier nd my heaviest i been is 255 at 9 months pregnant with my 2nd child i dnt know ehat i am at now but im scared to even look and be dissapointed to find out i hve put on more weight since i found out that im hving the surgery on sep 13 a month ago... Well im happy to hear that your weight is coming off and well all i can do is try harder cause its very hard but ur right i need to just give my self a reality check, nd good luck to u too

I've been doing the same thing. My surgery is on Aug 17th, so I'm two weeks away, and about two weeks ago I started eating horribly! Just fattening stuff, and more than I need to eat. I'm sure I've gained weight in this last two weeks, and I refuse to get on the scale and check. I also keep telling myself I won't be able to eat this stuff again... but I know that is just an excuse. My doctor wants me to do a low carb, high Protein pre-op diet for 7 days before surgery. I've decided to start it tomorrow so I'm doing it almost two weeks before surgery. I think that's the only way I'm going to get my eating somewhat under control. Does your doctor want you to do a pre-op diet?

It's normal, what helped me is knowing my goal && that I will be able to eat those foods again but not as much. I started watching what I was eating even before the diet && even though It's really a mental struggle I've lost 12lbs && 5 of them from just 4 days of the pre-op diet. I'm ending day 4 starving lol && I have 11 more days to go && I know I can do it... I'm sure you can too!!

Yes i hve to do two week pre op diet of liquds 3 Protein shakes a day nd 4 oz of meat if im still hungry which im sure i will be nd all i want if sugarfree Jello icepops plain yogurt nd cottage cheese no meat on the second week but can still hve everything else excpet the day before surgery strictly liquids only . Girl im gonna start pretending that im not even goin to have the surgery because im binging nd i know it will be that much harder on the diet nd i dnt want to fail because ive been told that recovery goes much smoother if the prenop diet is followed correctly nd it also lowers the risk of any damage to the liver while having the surgery so i really dnt want to fail but the way im going i just need to stop making excuses too we just hve to keep telling ourselfs not to do it for our own good , good luck with everything im going on an early diet too or at least try to just make it that much easier for the pre op diet im not buying a scale until the day before i start the pre op cause im scared to look

The sleeve is forever... BUT the sleeve does NOTHING about your head. We ALL crave and miss our dear evil friend (bad foods). We ALL struggle.

All I can say is IF you control yourself for 4 days, each day thereafter will be better. Good luck, sweetie!

And yes, I did a Protein rich diet before my diet...

Of course, im just fresking out nd it is all mental nd of course i love food lol but i hve been able to keep a diet and lose up to 20 30 pounds but its only for a short time i will regain it back so i know this tool will help me stay on track im so sick of all the negative impact being overweight has brought in my life nd so i hve controlled my self plenty of times before but just knowimg the surgery is getting closer is working my nerves cause its something MAJOR nd of course im turning to ffood instead of channeling those nerves into something else but im catching my self but i definately need to start putting into practice other coping methods cause big change is getting closer! But im also very happy and excited we ALL struggle you got that right

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
