  1. I'm 4 weeks out. My first couple weeks I had my crying fits && frustration. 'Why did I do this to myself? Was my sad song. But after some time adjusting mentally && physically. I could barely down fluids or eat but now I'm able. It will take time for your inflammation in your belly from the surgery to heal && you'll be able take in more. You'll be fine!! Just focus on your liquids, dehydration makes u even more sick. Take are of your self.
  2. Hi Ms. Yvette....yup it's been 2 weeks. I feel a lot better than the first week. The struggle was and is still real. I'm still trying to get used to everything. Having problems with meeting my Protein and liquid goals but still trying my best. My mental struggle w/this is slowly improving especially with time and great support from family and friends.

  4. I've told a few people fam and friends, they have been so supportive. However my father in law feels the need to tell everyone including his family in Oregon and Florida!! That has made me all uncomfortable. I've been receiving texts and FB comments which I do t like fb comments since I didn't post anything about it! I don't need to tell anyone that I had the surgery, just like I don't tell anyone about any other health related procedures that is just between my doctor and I. The problem with a lot of people is they tend to define you or paint you as "hey did you hear Chass had the surgery"? Im not the bariatric girl I'm still Chass.
  5. I know if you're lacking Iron, that it can cause you to have bruises. Not a DR but its great that you'll seek medical attention if it continues.
  6. I'm 2 days out && I am starting to regret it...this has to be better. I'm trying hard to not be negative but I did to feel better to be healthy not to yucky:-( I'm torn on how I feel right now.
  7. I can't drink anything without getting that pain like an air bubble w/pressure. Did anyone feel it like that && please tell me it goes away!!

  9. Hey everyone...day 1 post op. yesterday was rough. I was only able to walk around the nurses station once yesterday. however I'm doing better today, more walking. My blood pressure is high 147/83 but it came down from 161/115. Yesterday I was in and out...and definitely the worst. I'm sure it's different for everyone. The best of luck to you guys.
  10. I had a two week preop diet that consist of 2 shakes, 2protein snacks && a lean && green meal. Only yesterday was a liquid day. I was already used to not really eating that it wasn't a bad thing but for u I can see a struggle as you have to jump into it. You'll be fine!! I'm all about nothing today since its the big day. If I can do it I know u can too!!
  11. Sorry to hear that...sending positive thoughts your way. Hope u feel better soon!
  12. Thanks for the encouragement...I just gotta relax && think positive thoughts!! Good luck w/your surgery!
  13. I'm so nervous! I've been waiting for this day && now it's here I'm just about speechless. I have to fly to a neighbor island && ill be gone from my son for a week && I've never been away from him thing long. How are you doing fellow August sleevers??

  17. The hunger pains are not as bad anymore....that's the only thing that got better. If I can conquer this hurdle ill be just fine:-) glad to know it gets better! Thanks.
  18. I'm on day 5 on my diet where I'm allowed 2 shakes, 2 Protein Snacks, && a veggie && meat meal. It's been a struggle but that's nothing compared to the headaches && feeling totally out of it. The good news is my surgery was moved up 1 day && now having it on the 13th. Anybody else feeling this way? And how did you fix it?
  19. It's normal, what helped me is knowing my goal && that I will be able to eat those foods again but not as much. I started watching what I was eating even before the diet && even though It's really a mental struggle I've lost 12lbs && 5 of them from just 4 days of the pre-op diet. I'm ending day 4 starving lol && I have 11 more days to go && I know I can do it... I'm sure you can too!!
