Food that fills you the most and keeps you that way for a while

I am wondering what everyone eats to feel the most satisfied. By that I mean which foods do you find fill you up and keep you feeling satisfied for long periods of time? Also, do you find that drinking water 1/2 hour or so after eating flushes foods out of your stomach, leaving you hungry again? I am trying to gauge when to drink my liquids :)
