Anyone else extremely nervous???

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on the 1-17-07 and today is my first visit back to the doctor. I do have some concerns and questions for him. I'm still a little nervous, but I am very glad I went through with it, worried, nervous, and all. The life I was living sucked I was at one point 305 and this morning I weighted 269. I haven't been able to lose 36 lbs ever.:(

food is used to Celebrate everything, from birth to death, marriage to divorce, and every holiday and occassion in between. Celebrate life and the fact that we'll have one. If giving up some food gives us back the ability to do what we have envied others doing, take it away. Food will be there we just have to put it in the perpective and be creative with the foods we can eat. It's actually a small price to pay for a life.

Highest point 305

now 269

goal 160

I was so nervous too. I drove myself insane and I was surprisingly calm the day of the surgery. As soon as I saw the doctor I began having an anxiety attack. I told my boyfriend I was going home because I couldn't do this to myself. They gave me an injection and I chilled out so much it turned out to be a breeze. Well...the surgery part of it, lol...

I'm glad I did it. I agree that it depends on each person and what foods you'll soon find out you can eat or not.

I can't eat anything that is dairy now. Like most people I tried to taste a lil of different things. well to my surprise, I cant eating any potato, I immediately want to throw up, I tried a piece of a steak also the same thing, Ohhh and lettuce is horrible now. I can however eat pizza and popcorn, hehehe.

I can't believe it but well I knew it was going to be a change of life but it was worth it.

Lots of luv! Alice

As far as I'm concerned, I'm terrified about having the thing down my throat during the surgery and being able to feel the surgery w/o them knowing it. Yes, I watch too much Discovery Health Channel. I'm scheduled for 2/22, wish me luck.

The surgery itself isn't just easy, the truth from the patient's point of view it does not exist. They give you the drugs, you immediately become a totally unconscious breathing meat sack, and then you wake up in the recovery room. That's it. There is often some pain and discomfort for a few days after surgery, but there is really no awareness at all of anything that happens during surgery.

The Discovery Channel probably had a story about someone who was secretly conscious during quadruple bypass open heart surgery, which was done at the same time as a hip replacement and tonsilectomy. But the truth is, that just doesn't happen in the real world.

I had a lot of fear before surgery also, I think most people do. But just hang on. It will all be over soon. It's a nice feeling of relief when you wake up on the Other Side.

I'm sorry, but I just had to laugh at this!! I dont want to wake up on THE OTHER SIDE...I want to stay on THIS SIDE...just the healthier and lighter side of this side!!!

Is there such a thing as surgery insurance..you know...like they have at the airports before you fly? I'd be much more comfortable if I knew that my family would be taken care of...just in case.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
