Ok so someone tells me today that I've lost enought weight because my face looks bad! What? Why would you tell anyone this? Plus my face doesn't look bad! I told her that I liked the way my face looked! Everyone else's tells me how good I look and how much younger I look! Has anyone else had this happen?

Did you reply "Not as bad as your face?" :)

Some people (for whatever reason), feel it is their place to tell you when you've lost enough weight. If you feel fine with the way your face looks, smile and say "wow, that's rude". Sounds a bit like the person is just rude/insecure/mean.

I personally wouldn't let it bother me. People can be so rude sometimes. Has s/he ever said anything else rude or unkind about your weightloss process/progress? Do they have a weight problem?

yes she has a weight problem. She doesn't know about my surgery. I'm just going to let it roll off my back and forget she said it!

Yes, I've heard a lot of hurtful things. But I just keep doing what I think is best for me. I don't like arguing so I don't do anything to prolong a conversation I'm not enjoying, including sniping back. That person is stuck with themselves all the time. The best thing I can do for myself is minimize my exposure.

Someone sounds jealous. I say not to let it get to you. I got all kinds of comments when I lost weight and most of the bad ones came from people that didn't agree with WLS, or from the ones that had their own weight issues. If you like the way you look that's all that matters. :)

I think you have the right idea. Returning with a snide comment isn't helpful for you or the other person. It elevates the tension for you, distracts you from enjoying your success and may make you look petty to those around you. In my opinion, someone who makes comments like hers usually doesn't intend to be mean or to diminish your success. The person who said that may simply be clueless as to how she sounds. Does she make other tactless remarks to people sometimes? Coming back at her with a snappy retort may hurt her but won't keep her from being clueless in the future.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
