Ate Red Lobster tonight (pic)

Recommended Posts

My husband and I had a nice date night tonight at Red Lobster. PostOp eating out is quite different than before. For example, The waitress thought it was VERY strange I refused to order a drink (I didn't want it near me to tempt me). Lol. I also found transferring my food to a smaller plate made eating out less overwhelming.

I ordered grilled shrimp and coconut shrimp (my husband wanted coconut shrimp) with a side of veggies. Pre-sleeve I would have shared and appetizer, eaten a couple biscuits, ate nearly everything on my plate, and possibly dessert.

The plate above is what I ordered and what the pre-sleeved me would've eaten. The plate below is what I ate (minus a couple bites of the veggies).

Loving my sleeve as well. Just got back from Jalapeno Tree, was able to finish off one fajita and fixins wrapped in a corn tortilla and a few chips - I'm so full I want to die!

Good for you. I ate at a Mexican restaurant tonight. It was only the second time I've been out to dinner since my sleeve on June 10th. I ate chicken and guacamole from a fajita dinner my daughter ordered. Definitely much less food than usual. It felt good to be normal, but not overdo on the food like normal.

Our waitress gave me a few dirty looks (No drink? Extra plate? No salad?) lol. It was kind of funny. But I think when she saw me eating my little baby bites and chewing so carefully, I think she figured out what was going on.... Or maybe she just settled on me being a nutcase!

You did great!!! I saw the big plate before I noticed the smaller one. I have been looking at going to Red Lobster too. We just went to a seafood place close to where we live. They had steamed tilapia and it was delicious. Took a lot home with me and had it the next day. Keep up the good work. I'm 15 weeks out and still have trouble with what I can eat. :)

I order a shrimp cocktail at Red Lobster and ask them to bring it with everyone else's meal. Then I eat a couple bites of my husband's veggies.

Hello. My surgery date is July 30th. I start on a week of Bariatric Advantage on Monday. Today I went to my favorite sushi place. Red Lobster is one of my faves, too. I'm going to miss those biscuits! I think one meal there will last me three or four days after surgery!

I was worried that I'd want a biscuit too. But honestly food scares me now. Lol

I was LITERALLY just thinking about this last night! I have actually thought about just "telling" the dang waitress to avoid stupid looks & questions, because I am like 4 weeks out and I KNOW my husband and I can literally share 1 entree... (don't want to have to go OFF on someone for acting like they have an attitude because their "tip" will be less...... you know that's what it boils down to..... because I literally CANNOT eat more than 4-5 bites at a time!). I truuuuuly do NOT want to deal with servers constantly asking or bugging me....

Soooooo, I may just "say it" outright, which may cause less drama (for me) and allow me to enjoy my day without fear of bad service because they do not understand.

When she orders my daughter (who has a lap band) just tells them that she's not very hungry. They have always been fine with that explanation. One woman I knew had a laminated card from her doctor that requested that she be allowed to order from a child's menu. I might just make one and ask my doc to sign it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
