Hello

I went from the band to the sleeve on July 17 I'm having a tough time right now only being a few days out from surgery. Buyers remorse and all. Anyone else out there like me? Help!

My nutritionist warned me that everyone wakes up wondering what they heck they were thinking after having this done. She also said a month from now that will be completely different.

When I went in, the last thing I said to my daughter was that I hoped I was doing the right thing. She told me then and has been telling me every day since that I did. I am going to hold on to that until this transitional phase passes and I have figured out what works for me. We took pictures today and will look at them again in 6 months and see that I am on the right path for the rest of my life.

Reading the stories here helped me make the choice to do the surgery and I keep reading to reinforce that choice.

So, no you arent the only one and it is perfectly normal. Just hang in there.

Thanks for responding. How long ago did u get sleeved? I feel like I made the right choice, it's just this long bumpy road of recovery until everything

Starts to look a little brighter.

I was sleeved on Wednesday the 17th. I was in the hospital until yesterday afternoon and was so glad to get home.

My insides are sore but definitely felt more human today then yesterday. I have been taking advantage of the liquid vicodin and walking outside I felt like a feast for the mosquitoes and cut that short until tomorrow.

My goal was to get back to work Monday, which at this point might be a victory if I work from home and go in Tuesday. We will see.

I was a band to sleeve revision as well. Had my surgery in May 28. So I am almost 2 months out and down 40 pounds :) I think everyone has that buyers remorse feeling at first but trust me, when you see the weight fall off and the scale goes down almost every day, you will not regret it! I had so many issues with the band, I am definitely glad to be rid of it! How about you?

Absolutely. I was also band to sleeve on the 16th, alot of "buyers remorse" going on here! Much more pain than my band 4 yrs ago. The band was embedded into my stomach making it harder to get out, or so he says. At least this time around I have support (was widowed 4 yrs ago, remarried 18 mths ago). He does all my counting for me (protein, oz of Water, etc). It's amazing to have someone care for you! I'm trying to look at the good parts of this (my insurance actually covers it, I'm gunna look fantastic) and keep the pain parts to a minimum

Have you gone potty yet? I haven't and I think that will help with some of the pain...

Hello

I went from the band to the sleeve on July 17 I'm having a tough time right now only being a few days out from surgery. Buyers remorse and all. Anyone else out there like me? Help!

This was me about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I had my band to sleeve on 06/25. I had a rough go of it. I had been through it before so I thought I would be ok. I went back to work at 2 weeks. I should have waited 3 weeks. BUT I feel pretty good now. I started soft solids on Tuesday and I can tell you eating with the sleeve is so much different ...in a good way. I have not thrown up yet. I do measure all of my food and track it to make sure I get all of my Protein. I was one who was asking " what did I do to myself" but trust me it does get better ;)

I am so glad my friend told me about this site!! Thanks for the feedback. It's great to know "I'm not alone". I am soooo glad to have that band out of me. I was miserable with it. Couldn't keep anything down until they realized it slipped. Then had all the Fluid removed from it until I could get in on the 17 for my sleeve. I'm sure my buyers remorse will fade as my weight starts to drop. I am really looking forward to the soft solids stage. I'm starving!!! As far as the bathroom goes, it's standard procedure to give a suppository on the 2nd day post op prior to discharge so I went once at the hospital and once when I got home yesterday. I am going to start a stool softener just because I'm soo scared to poop!!

I went through the same feelings when I first came out if surgery and was in so much pain. Now that I'm feeling better I'm ok with my decision. Your going to do great ! Best wishes

3 long bumpy road bander to sleeve here as well :) I was sleeved on July 15th and since having surgery, have asked that same question a few different times. I just have to keep reminding myself that I did the same thing after having the band and the further out I got the better I felt. I think my problem is the no eating just liquids, because I just had surgery June 10th to take out my band and was on liquids for 2 weeks and here I am doing it again, I must say it really sucks, lol! Good luck to you all :)

Sleeved on June 18, and was remorseful and uneasy until Saturday. That was the first day I actually got all the necessary Protein, fluids and vitamins! My daughter and husband could not believe it; suddenly I was "back". Talking, laughing, feeling completely normal-PTL! Have only lost 36, but I'll take it!!! So relieved!!! Hang in there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
