Great job M2G!

I'm staying around 158 but at the doctors today their scale said 161!!!!

I'm hoping my shoes and clothes weigh a lot :P

It sucks because I wiegh in tomorrow with my bariatric surgeon and it will be fully clothed too. So yeah. When I weigh at home it's naked and I exhale :D

Oh, who cares what their scale says? You've been weighing all along on YOURS!!!!! :)

I rebooted my 5:2 efforts on August 18th; I do ADF, 1700 on, 600 off. Today is 10 days in, and I have not lost any weight. I wasn't going to weigh myself for 30 days but caved. I am 60 lbs above personal goal weight, fighting 25 lbs of regain from the last year.

So that averages 1150 a day... You are also working out every day? This seems plenty low in the calorie department...

Stay away from that damn scale lady! 20 days.

I forget, you got this in Mexico? Do you have a doctor you can go back to at some time to figure this out? Write down your efforts, and you will have something to take to him/her your efforts....

Feed - no, I had mine done by Dr Jossart in San Francisco CA. I was going to work out every day, until I discovered I have a hernia, that and two pulled groin muscles are keeping me out of the gym atm.

quick update -

from 168 - 161. minus 7lbs so far - this includes two 'holidays' a trip to Spain with my school and a family holiday in Turkey. Not bad and I am pleased that I have broken my set point of 164.

To reach my surgeon's goal I need to see 154. I will be thrilled to see 159 mind!

Coops! It is so rewarding for me to see you getting results with this plan! ... and having a real life at the same time... so awesome. We may just cross the finish line together! (not that we are ever really finished, but to goal...) :D :D :D

Yeh 176 today so down another pound. I also go back to work today after the 6 week summer break so hopefully it will be easier to stick to 5:2, I do find it hard when out of routine.

GT - I know a while back you were horridly sick and could barely eat anything. Did you lose anything during that time? (Not that I want you to be sick in order to lose ..) but just curious how that all went down with regards to your weight. Your body does seem quite stubborn at all attempts to lose...

Well, thought I would update. I started 5:2 June 4th. Today is Sept 4th. Three months/13 weeks and I've lost a little over 25 pounds. That averages to about 2 pounds a week. Double the average 5:2 loss of 1 lb a week.

I will say, though, for others not having as much success. For some unknown reason, my body LIKES this lifestyle and I have WORKED at it. Doing things I NEVER did before - even during initial loss phase.

Like using MFP and logging; curbing Snacks to a bare minimum; exercising much more; buying a fitbit and using it; and almost eliminating eating out except on most Sundays; and setting a calorie MAX on Feast Days.

With that said, I also have not denied myself; went on vacation; went on weekend trips; ate the meals that involved carbs and sweets when I was invoved in something special.

I honestly think that this has been a life changer for me. VSG was a HUGE life changer and I am forever grateful; the maintenance I wasn't so good at and to regain goal (almost there less than 2 lbs) and get focused again is sometimes mind boggling to me. AND very rewarding!!!

I agree Georgia. My body seems to like this way of eating. I was trying so hard to lose my regain and nothing was working. Not exercising my brains out , and not cutting carbs down to almost zero.

I love 5:2 and it seem like a perfect way to eat throughout maintenance for me.

I too agree, my body enjoys ADR - or I thought it did! I mean, I feel good, it makes me enjoy my eating days and look forward to fast days as days I don't have to think about food. But after 19 days and no loss, I'm pretty bummed.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
