Implant removal went smoothly. I love that surgical center, they keep me calm and seem to do a great job with medical phobes like me. Conscious sedation but I was.more aware and awake than typical. I found it reassuring.

Couple of things - I am in so much pain I am shocked. Suspect digging around to pull out the implant caused some bruising. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Nurse anesthesiologist told me that at times my respiration rate seemed very slow, but I was talking. She said "are you in good cardiovascular shape or what?". Told her I used to be better.

Doc said pocket was filled with blood which surprised him alot. Fits I guess with the injury theory over the "my body rejects umplants" or the "infection" theory.

Did I mention I hurt like hell?

My lil dog suzy senses all this. She has gently snuggled me the whole time, avoiding my pain zone. My son peels her away to take her potty and then she us RIGHT back. I am gonna need to get up and eat so she will. I feel kinda icky in the tummy tho. ..I think from the pain.

I have been thinking about us volunteering as a therapy dog visiting hospice etc. Suzy is a little excitable at times but she has been a delicate lil princess cuddling me so it will be interesting to see how she does in therapy dog evaluation.

Kim, your words resonate deeply. I too want love with a man profoundly but I have lots of love with others and maybe for the stage of like I am at - that is what I need. I have discussed this topic at length with women my age and older, single and married and I don't see that the married are necessarily happier.

I decided a few weeks ago to start looking outward more. My counselor wants me to pursue the spiritual path but I don't have that in me right now. Well..at least not traditional spiritual path.

I loved that day I spent doing habitat restoration last year. I find joy when my dog suzy brings a smile to an elderly person (i take her lots of places and she is super cute and friendly ).

I am going to make a genuine effort to build giving pleasure to others as a routine part of my life...investigating volunteer opportunities. I am such a social person, I have a pal and a son interested in perhaps joining me.

I think it is worth exploring this path -for me anyway - as having "fun" just isn't as fun as it used to be.

Sheryl, glad that surgery went well, hope you get help with the pain.

Kim you write something such marvellous things which really resonate.

Me I'm on holiday for the weekend, at the beach with my dog and husband (not necessarily in that order). You will know it Coops we are at Lily Ponds at Bosherton. We love it here, tonight we were on South Beach in Tenby - dog thought she had died and gone to heaven. Too much wine and good company ...

As part of my new..".don't get involved" strategy I am keeping my peace on Alex's thread on band myths debunked. It isn't accurate. Example, i still have the brochure from the band manufacturer saying clearly it is not permanent and will most likely need removal or replacement. I just found out that the most successful bandster I know had her band slip and be removed about 13 years post op... and I think the removal rate at the 10 year mark is quite high.

Colicky RUQ pain, midline right ribs. Pressing helps. Lack of appetite, gassy, this morning nausea that had me dry heaving during my shower. Bowel movements seem alright. This has been going on for two weeks, the nausea is new.

I overdid it and paying the price. My drain output is way up and has turned pink/bloody again, I feel poorly, I have pain. I also feel blue...but I KNOW that is because my mind/body gets confused and feeling physically bad makes me sad.

I know because yesterday and Saturday I felt great. I went to a haunted house - first time since forever! It was scary but we laughed (between screams) so hard the whole time our faces hurt afterwards. Sat I got out with a couple of girlfriends for a few hours which was cheering.

The overdoing it was taking care of a farm related disaster that occurred while I was "recovering" from surgery. About 2 hours of med to hard physical work.

I feel better already, took a pain pill and going to nap.

Florinda, have you been to the doc? The symptoms sound awful - hugs my friend x

No, I haven't been to the doctor, and I also don't have a gallbladder - had it taken out almost 3 years ago. I l prodded my belly last night, my right ribline, and found a piece that clicked in and out of place, like a tile piece. It didn't hurt to manipulate it and I snapped it back and forth for awhile. This morning I woke up feeling great! No rhythmic pinching pain, no nausea... I have maybe a little sore spot but that's it! I think I fixed it! I looked it up and apparently there is a thing called floating rib syndrome, where that floating rib gets out of place and sometimes has to be fixed with surgery but I think I snapped it back into place!

I went to the urgent care - what an effing waste of time and money!!!! He ignores all the facts he's given and because he finds bacteria in my urine sample, decides I have a UTI and my symptoms are just referred pain and here, take this antibiotic and you're fine!!! WTFWTFWTF!!!!!!!!!

Went to the ER last night, spent 12 hours there, they still don't know what's wrong with me. Did a CT with contrast, did a trans-vag ultrasound (oh yippee) and pumped me full of useless drugs, still in pain. I just realized, nobody tested me for Barrett's esophagus. I take a double dose these days of my antacid, and my throat is in icy fire pain all day

Florinda, I hope you are able to get some answers on why you feel so ill. I understand completely your feeling the need to have love in your life. I feel the same way, and while I may find it temporarily, they always end up to be dysfunctional people. The world is full of dysfunctional people.

Sheryl I hope you're feeling better too , from your surgery. I think your outlook is great!

Kim, you are always so uplifting!

I'm trying to lose some regain and forcing myself to not snack which is my biggest problem. I really want to get into some of my old clothes and I think starting to find my willpower now is better than what I usually do, which is wait until after the holidays when I have gained more. I'm sort of doing 5:2 in that I won't let myself eat past 9pm. I don't get to bed til 1 am so that time between 9-1 is when I graze the most.

I would really like to meet someone but it seems so hopeless unless I move to Portland or Eugene.

I am really sorry for not mentioning everyone's posts. I have such a bad memory but I do read every single post. I need to put up 2 windows so I can refer back and comment but I'm usually in such a hurry.

@@globetrotter I hope you are better. Any answers yet?

You've mentioned your acid is bad, have you been to a specialist for that? Keep us posted.

I have not been to a specialist for the acid, is that a gastroenterologist? I am now taking 2 Prevacids a day and my throat is in an icy fire all morning and then in the evening.

My abdominal pain has migrated to around the back right waist and I have nausea still.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
