I can't believe I'm going to say this...

but I wish I had never had the band done. :) It makes me sad to say it because I am losing weight, but I am sick to death of throwing up multiple times a day.

I have gone to the doctor, everything is fine. I'm apparently not chewing well enough. Whatever, I puke up mashed potatoes. What's to chew? I throw up Soup, and tea. I have really had enough. I even asked my surgeon about bypass, which I have never been interested in.

I'm thinking about a total unfill and taking my chances for awhile.

One other thing to watch, I cannot eat in the morning or do anything cold (milk, water, etc.) Hits my band and flys back up. I can only do hot liquids in the am.

You will have to see what works best for you. I have been banded just under two years and learn more about the band and my body almost daily.

Good luck and please keep us informed

Thanks for all of the advice. I started doing liquids only today and am going to try to stick to that for the next week. I'm hoping things will get better after that and I can start fresh.

If it doesn't work, I'll call my surgeon and make an appointment for an unfill, give my body a short rest and then try again.

Hopefully one of those two will work.

Thanks again for all your great advice.

The aloe works wonders. I had the same issues a few months back and lived on egg drop soup, and thinned yogurt for 2 weeks. I had to have a slight unfill anyway, but letting my pouch reat helped. The doctor also mentioned reglan, it's a script that helps the stomach work better I think. Might be worth looking into. The unfill helped me, so I never took it. ~Mandy

I've had my band 4 years this month and I'm still learning what works and what doesn't. I go through periods of time when I eat something which causes bad PB's and irritation, then I immediately want to get an unfill. I have learned that if I go to hot tea and Soups for 2 days I am as good as new and can start eating small meals again with no problems. I can only have liquids in the mornings but this works for me. Let your stomach heal and get a slight unfill, it will make such a huge difference when you feel better.

Good Luck.
