Finally I had my private meltdown here at the hospital and cried for an hour. Sometimes I feel so selfish for getting the lapband 2 years ago and being in and out of the hospital since. Now here I am back in the hospital post op getting the band out and yet another procedure to the sleeve. And of course I am sick post op. My poor little girl who happens to be autistic left the hospital tonight hysterical because I'm not coming home tonight. So I lost it. I could really use a friend right now. I'm so far from home and alone in this hospital room. My heart is breaking.

I am so sorry you are feeling so bad :( Things will get better with each day and your little one will have you back home before you know it. She may not be able to understand now but she will appreciate her healthier mom in the years to come. Sending a big (gentle) hug from Texas your way <3

Hi from Houston, Tx. Please know that, as I get ready for bed tonight, you are in my thoughts and prayers. You may be alone in your hospital room, but you are surrounded in spirit with love and compassion. Your daughter is as well. And though she won't remember the night mommy had to stay at the hospital, she will remember all the things you'll be able to do with her after you've recovered. I wish you a night of rest and a morning of renewed hope. (And I know this might be corny as all get out, but it is the truth and I sincerely mean it :)

Ps- I am figuring out how to PM you in case you need to talk.

I agree with the ladies above!

You will be home soon and on your way to health. This is a bump in the road. Get some rest and walk, sip, walk, sip, walk! Can't wait to hear good updates...

Your post broke my heart because I have an autistic son & I truly understand what you mean by your child being hysterical that you weren't going home. My son will be the same way. He still doesn't know I'm going into the hospital (in less than 2 weeks) & I just don't know how to even tell him but I'm not telling him I'm having weight loss surgery. I'm trying to think of something to say to him. I don't know what to say or do to help you but I can pray for you & know that all these lovely people that posted before me, are thinking of you as well. (((Hugs)))

Wow! I am so sorry! I sure hope you get to go home sooner then later. Don't feel selfish about having this surgery...ever! You did this so that you can be the best you, and mom there is! You will be so much healthier, and able to keep up with your child, and play with her. She will forget about while you were away for a while, but she won't forget how much more time she will have with her mom now that you have made this choice to get healthy! As for the meltdown....go ahead and let it out! You will have more to come while healing, and getting used to this new lifestyle. As for having to be in and out of the hospital...I can tell you that since I left the hospital after my surgery, I haven't had to go to the doctors at all relating to anything to do with my sleeve. Good luck to you for a speedy recover. And congratulations on your new sleeve and new way of life! :)

Sending you a big hug. You will be home and up and about before you know it. Just think of the quality you will add to your life and your child's when you are able to do more and no longer sick from the stupid band.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
