Does "met medical crieria" mean approved?

Just got off the phone with BCBS. My doctor submitted for approval about a week ago. The person at BCBS just said that someone put a note in my file today saying that the "medical criteria has been met" and then he said that the "approvals" usually go out by mail. Does that sound like an approval? I'm hoping it is! I was afraid to ask for anymore details because I might jinx it :)

You have most likely been approved! Congrats on your new journey to a healthier life style..... :P

Sounds like it! Congratulations! I wasn't able to get a solid answer from BCBS by phone at all, the office coordinator at my surgeon's office was able to get the answer.

I have BCBS Federal. Mine was submitted 6/21 & i got anxious & called today. The BCBS Fed rep looked up my info & read me the same thing & said a letter was mailed to me & my surgeons office on 6/28. I asked her "so does that mean its approved?" She said YES! I will really believe it when I have the letter in my hands but I will take it for now. Looks like I will be stalking the mailman next few days! Hope my story helps! Congrats!

Yay! Thank you!

If your told letter has been mailed you can ask to have a copy faxed to the dr also. Just have the fax # ready.
