Anyone else getting sleeved in August?

  • Popular Post

I finally have my surgery date (8/14) and I am beyond excited. Looking for some sleeve buddies to go through this process with. I have been making changes already and so far so good. I have increased my activity level and stopped drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which was a huge change for me. What is everyone else doing to prepare? Does anyone who is post op have any helpful tips for things to have on hand after surgery?

I'm having mine done on August 19th' date=' and an incredibly excited! I'm trying to be better about my eating (a big step for me, as I love junk food) and today when I realized I needed groceries, I put on the brand new walking shoes I bought yesterday, threw on my backpack, and walked a mile to the store! Whatever I purchased, I carried home on my back or in a bag. :) In this crazy heat, the sweat ran like rain, my friend! LOL!

Anyway, eating better and going to try to walk 45 min (at least) 5 days a week. :) I'm new to the site and would love some new friends to go through the process with too!

Good luck![/quote']

I'm also scheduled for the 19..I hope this goes by quickly!

Tjohnson322 - What is the group going to be called ?

I'm not sure! adr525 is who started the group, and I haven't been added yet. I'll let you know!

What does everyone's post-op diet look like? Here's mine:

Week 1 - clear liquids only

Week 2 and 3 - pourable "full liquids"

Week 4 and 5 - mushy soft foods

Then "new normal"

I need to email the NUT to ask if Unjury Chicken Soup flavor is allowed during clear liquids.

Why do you start the liquid diet so early

My doctor was a little hestiant to do the sleeve instead of the bypass because of my weight. I have lost 15lbs over the last 8 weeks on my own, and she wants me to lose another 15lb to 30lbs before the surgery and figured the liquid diet would be the best way to do that.

I'm also scheduled for the 19..I hope this goes by quickly!

Congratulations to you! I am also new on here and will be getting my sleeve done a week after you. I am terrified of the surgery but I am also SO ready to continue taking control of my wieght and my health!

Havent got a date yet...but getting close. Getting blood work done next week & the other tests..took me 4 months to lose 10lbs....also had to quit smoking...did that 7 weeks ago. Now im working on quitting diet coke...this is hard..

I'm scheduled for August 29! I'm excited...but it's been a whirlwind! My first Dr Visit was July 11 and I received my surgery date today.

We share 8/29, so excited for you.
