Recommended Posts

I had my pre-op appt on Monday and I told my doctor my symptoms and she agreed with me but says she's not worried... Have any of u guys experienced this..?? Before I had my surgery last year I also had some symptoms to when I went to the pulmonary doctor (lung doc) & he told me I should go & do a sleep study test to see. Everything worked out good I had it but it was so mild I didn't need to take care of it or need medicine. Ask your doctor about getting a sleep study test done. Make sure you have every area covered & checked out to make sure your healthy enough for surgey.

I went through all the testing, had mild apnea, was put on a machine, had to show compliance for several weeks before pulmonary would ok surgery, which pushed things back a couple months. Then when I went in for surgery, they never seemed concerned if I used the machine or not. It was very frustrating. Haven't used it since either.

I am in no way saying you shouldn't inquire further, but I think it was about stacking up co-morbiditirs/statistics in my case.

At the very least mention it to your anesthesiologist prior to surgery. They need to know about it so they monitor you differently during surgery. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 2 years ago, and use a cpap. My anesthesia dr said they absolutely need to know because they do something different during the anesthesia.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
