Ok so the subject line has nothing to do with my inquiry :) I'm 5 months post op and I can only eat about 3 very small bites before my stomach feels uneasy. Now I know this is what I signed up for but I just wanted to know if eventually I will be able to eat more. I want to start working out but being that I eat so little, I usually get light headed. Will I ever be able to eat more than 3 small bites?

For me personally I wasn't able to eat more than about 5 small bites until about 4 months post. So it is most likely that you will be able to eat a little more as time goes by!!

Congrats on surgery, and good luck with everything :)

Sorry you are going through this. :( Do you try to eat more frequently to compensate? When you say 3 bites, is that 3 bites of dense Protein, or anything? Can you drink Protein Shakes? I am just a week short of being 5 months out, and I definitely don't have that issue. I can eat about 4 to 5 small veggie meatballs with a little (like less than a tbsp) of ricotta and a little parmesan or 2 soy protein sausage patties with cheese (I'm a vegetarian). At first I could only eat about 2 to 2.5 veggie meatballs, so my capacity has increased. I can eat about a cup of salad, but not if I am eating protein, so I usually eat veggies as Snacks. I would definitely talk to your surgeon.

Also, can you eat more of something like yogurt? I can eat 9 oz of Greek yogurt. In fact, I am eating that right now. :)

I can eat a considerable amount of mushy foods. Maybe I'm eating too fast? Rather than get full my stomach starts hurting.

I can eat more than that now, and I'm only in my 3rd week! Yikes! LOL

I'm 6 months out and like tess can eat. Today for Breakfast I had a hard boiled egg (egg white only) and a 5.3oz Greek yogurt. If I eat slider foods can definitely get more down. If I stick to Proteins about 5-7oz.

I will be 5 months on the 4th and can eat about 1 oz of dense Protein, I can't always finish that amount. In the mornings I try to eat a 6oz yogurt, somedays I can't finish, somedays I can.

There are certain foods I can eat way more of, but I've never been able to eat more than 3/4 cup.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
