I am on week 3 ... And it does get better. My first week I could barely get in an out of bed by myself, I hit my wall on about day 4 when I tried to take a shower... I was in so much pain my mother had to come and dry me off and help me back in bed... Mind you I am 38 years old! Totally humiliation, but it passed. I am back to work this week, the pain is gone and I am able to focus on walking and ensuring I am hitting my Protein goals! Hang in there.... This to shall pass!

My week 2 had me feeing like I got run over by a tractor trailer. Not to mention I was so overcome with emotional breakdowns with major regrets. Worst week ever. My husband stayed home with me the first week taking care of me & keeping my company. He was & is the major part of my small support system because i only informed 3 people that i was getting sleeved, so when he left for work the 2nd week I went nuts. He & my girlfriend would call/text me throughout the day, which helped tremendously. By week 3 my emotions were in tact, i was pain free. Been smooth sailing since then.

I am 7 weeks out today and I only started to feel ok this last week. I was only going to be out 6weeks from work but my doctor gave me an extra 2 and I thank god! I would have gone back to work and then needed off again. I am a labor and delivery nurse so my job can be very physical. I also work overnight 12 hours shifts so I need to be all together. It takes time I am down 50 and I am feeling good about myself for the first time. I have 75 - 100 more to go but I felt a rib today in the shower! I can't remember that last time I could do that. So hang on this is a life change and change takes time. Also I was second guessing the whole surgery up to the point I was on the OR table and they were putting a mask over my face! I was like I'm not sure but was asleep before I could get the words out oh well woke up and it was over!

Everyone is different and heals physically and emotionally at their own pace. I am 10 days out and some days have been better than others but I keep up the hydration and walking and I just believe firmly I'll be back to normal soon. Can't wait to get back to the gym.

You should ask your psychiatrist (or whoever is prescribing you Zoloft) if there is any way to get the meds in liquid or capsule form (with granules/sprinkles, not a whole tablet). Sprinkles can be mixed into Jello to make it more palatable.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
