I have not had that problem, but I have had lots of reactions to meds and foods since the surgery. I have been broken out in hives for nearly 4 months. I am having allergy testing on the 12th of July. Hope it will shine some light on this. Never have been allergy to anything in my life. But, I have changed my body so maybe now I will have to super careful about what I eat and meds that I take. Hope your surgery goes well.

I had my sleeve on June 10th and by the 15th I was in the ER vomiting blood and in the worst pain of my life. My sleeve leaked and caused a fistula of infected Fluid on the outside of my stomach. While I was in the ER I aspirated some of he Fluid from the fistula and ended up with pneumonia. I had to be air lifted from Albuquerque to El Paso where I had my surgery where I spent the next week in ICU and the next month and a half in the hospital. I just got home a few days ago and I still feel horrible. The procedures I had to go through to fix this problem was not worth it. I wish I never had the surgery in the first place. :(

I can honestly say I have been there. I hate knowing that you and others have gone thru this you can contact me if you want. I haven't found many on this board that have had issues

But hang in there I'm at almost eight no out still dealing with abscess but my outlook changed I realized the good things and that I'm alive what you went thru was horrible. It will get better there is light at the end of tunnel and you will be glad you had surgery although I find myself telling others think twice etc

Hang on count each day as a blessing

Thanks for your reply. I have felt very alone in this process. I think the chest tubes and the drains down my back were the worst of it. Just have to get my lungs to heal up and hopefully that will be that. Have you had any further issues??

Did you have feeding tube and or wound vac

I had a drain inserted directly into the fistula from the front of my chest and another chest tube inserted from the side for my lungs. I felt like a science experiment!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
