I can eat salads with out any trouble- problem is its not Protein. If I get chicken or tuna I try to focus on it first and eat some salad as I go.

sweethot, I know what you mean. I'm not banded yet, but I LOVE SALADS. I worry that I won't be able to eat them, but I've read where some can and some can't. So I guess when that time comes, I'll have to test the waters. I guess giving up salad is a small price to pay for getting my life back.

I had a big salad for lunch today....yum.

I have been able to eat salads the entire time. I prefer to keep looser restriction, but even the times post-fill that I have been fairly restricted I have never had a problem with salad. I like to dump a small can of tuna on it to make it a meal. I dont do chicken breast well all the time, and thigh meat just doesnt seem right for a salad! Just make sure you wait until you are firmly on solids before you have yours, lol!!!

if you make the thigh meat of chicken w/teryaki sauce and add some manderin oranges to the salad, you will not even need dressing--my mouth is watering just thinking about it!! and yes you will be able to eat salad--you just won't be using it as a filler so as not to eat higher calorie foods!! you will run out of space and not be able to eat the protien you need!!

I love salads now and it is one of the few things i know will not give me a problem...I have my salads with a little seafood salad or artichoke chicken salad with 1000 island dressing. Not the best but compared with the crap I ate preband not too bad. That and the walking has helped me go from 197 to 175 in the last 3 months and i was banded in 2003.

Salads are good for me too. I do add tuna or chicken for Protein. I tend to throw some cheese and chick peas for added Protein as well. Can't do cucumbers, raw carrots, and the like anymore though, they get stuck.

My salads now consist of a protein (tuna, chicken, shrimp, egg) cheese, chick peas, spring mix salad, grape tomatoes and maybe an olive or two. That's pretty much it though.

great! sounds like the odds are in my favor. I'm not a big meat eater, i'll have to work on adding some to a salad.

I like most meats, but I would much rather have the salads or pastas or seafood.

I like expensive meat, Porterhouse STeaks, fillet mignon, lobster, crab legs. Being a military family, those are not on the menu often! But how I love them!

I could eat salads with no problem until my last fill. I have awesome restriction now and salads just aren't happenin'. It's sucks! I love salad!!

I have great restriction and luckily I am able to eat salads. I get stuck on some things often, but salad, thankfully, goes down just fine. I add garbanzo Beans for some Protein or some cheese. The only thing is, I still make giant salads forgetting that there is no way I will be able to eat the whole thiing. I still am learning how to downsize what I put in my plate.

I've always enjoyed a good salad but now I LOVE them. There's so much going on with the different flavors and textures that it's a party in your mouth!

One of my favorite dinners is a chicken chopped salad. I do lettuce, Tomato, chicken, avocado, cucumber, onion, and a wee bit of blue cheese. Chop it up really well and toss it in a bowl with a homemade dijon vinaigrette and it's such a treat. Because the chicken is chopped up so fine, it's never been a problem.

Speaking of problems, the only thing that's gotten me stuck was a piece of steamed cauliflower that I had a on Christmas Eve... salads are A Ok!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
