July 8 was my surgery date. I opted for St. Joe's Hospital, everyone I dealt with was great. My surgery was at 9am Monday and i was released around 6pm Tuesday. First few days I was sore, but all in all my recovery was pretty uneventful! I've lost 31 pounds so far. I stalled for about 2 weeks, but thankfully the scale has started moving again! :)

I'm going to have my surgery around Nov. 19th. Our support groups are once a month at Monmouth Medical. I would like more support. Does anyone know of any weekly support groups in Monmouth or Middlesex Counties? I even tried to meet with over eaters anonymous, but couldn't find any. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm in Stanton, DE and will be having my sleeve done by Dr. Peters as well. I have my medical clearance I am waiting on insurance approval! Nervous as heck.

How did you like Dr. Peters? On Obesity Help, the members talk about their sleeves starting around 2 oz for some. Do you know what size he does? And did he discuss the possibility of being converted to a bypass if there are complications?

Having the sleeve done in mid October at Easton Hospital. I researched other programs, and spoke ro other sleevers, and by farA great group of professionals, the best in the Lehigh Valley Area. The pre-operative Pathways classes are interesting and informative and the support group sessions are great! Can't wait to have this done! Bariatric coordinator, Mandy and nutritionist Lisa are awesome..always accessible for questions, advice and encouragement. Dr. Singhal is the surgeon who is very calming and attentive.

Glad to hear you are in a program you enjoy. I had my sleeve done in Philadelphia at Temple Univ Hospital, July 22, 2013. Good group of people within the program. I too did a lot of research before going to this program.

All the best in your journey!

How soon did Dr. G let you go back to work? Were you still on your Clear liquids for a week? How do you feel now?

I took 2 and a half weeks off, but he would have let me go back after a week (a friend sleeved by him on the same day returned after a week). I was on Clear Liquids for a week, but my friend got to start shakes on discharge from hospital. I think it was because of the reflux that developed with me.

I am now almost 2 months out, and I'm doing well! Happy with it so far. Back to regular food and not many shakes. I didn't really realize the shake part wouldn't last that long, but I'm happy about that. Trying to step up the exercise now.

Sorry it took me so long to respond! I must have missed the notification.

Good luck to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
