I had my surgery on April 30th. I started at 250. As of today I am 26 pounds down. I feel like I am losing insanely slow. I'm waiting well (protein, Protein, protein). I am also going to zumba three times a week. I feel thinner, but get incredibly aggravated when I get dressed.

You are losing 4.5 lbs a week. That is not slow. How old are you and how tall?

Like its always been said, we didn't put the weight on overnight, and though some may lose at a different rate, we are all different. Don't beat urself up, just think, have u ever lost 26lbs so quickly prior to wls? So ur doing gr8! Just don't let the scales decide ur success. Just remember that uve had the surgery, now u have a tool to be more successful at losn than u ever had b4! You are, can, and will do this, just give ur body time to adjust to such a major change and don't kill urself w zumba...I use to do it b4 my bad knees. Hopefully after surgery, i'll b back at it. Good luck n God Bless You. Dee Dee:)

Everyone loses weight at a different speed...if you were doing a regular diet they would encourage you to lose only a lb to 2 lbs a week.....

26 lbs are gone...that is great......

Make sure that you are eating veggies and fruit as well.....I use fruit as my Snacks.....and not Protein....How much Water are you drinking as well...these things help...

Remember that you are on the way down.....the speed doesn't matter..it is how you feel about yourself and that you are getting healthier.....

Don't lose hope, keep the goal in mind....it will come!

All the best!!!!!!

I started at 250.- 26 pounds down.

nbossert

6 weeks - 26 lbs gone!!!!

you are doing great

since there is no exact # people lose in time periods - everyone thinks they should be losing more than they have

they/you/me think they have failed just cuz they haven't lost a million lbs in 6 weeks

As OP said - weight didn't just show up over night - won't go away like that either

keep up the great work/job

head up!!!!

i can see B) that you will continue to be very strong and successful

take care

kathy

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
