protein shake full of chemicals?

So I am 6 days post op but am having a hard time with liquids. I hate sugar free anything and these protein shakes just seem so full of chemicals. Is it just me but it feels weird to nourish my hurt tummy with processed liquids. Is there a better alternative? Like pure yogurt or liquid oatmeal and whole whey....thoughts? I want to lose weight but I feel honey and pure sugar has GOT to be better than all the fake stuff...

Did you try the Premier shakes? They are somewhat tolerable. I tried Muscle Milk at first. It was horrible. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

If you want to go to the health food route you could try RAW by garden of life. This Protein shakes uses brown rice Proteins. I tried it and didn't like it as it was very gritty in texture.

Another option that is very healthy is Jay Robb egg white or whey protein. I have tried the egg white protein and I thought that is was good. Not the best but good. I have not had his whey protein. It is a natural as you are gonna get aside from curdling your own buttermilk and separating the curds from the whey

Isopure is very good for you, if you haven't tried it, you should. At the end of the day, no matter which ones you choose, protein shakes are a vital part of your recovery. I drink Pure Whey from GNC as well as the Isopure. They are really good.

I totally get what you are saying. I also try to use the least amount of sugar free products as possible. That being said. I felt for the first few weeks I just had to let go of that thinking and just try to get in the nutrients as needed. It will just be for awhile then you can start going back to eating clean. I get sucked into using those stupid flavored water enhancers just to help get my water in. I hope to phase them out soon. Good look sorry I wasn't any help on a better way for liquid protein.
