Take it slow. The first couple of days post op are rough. Once they remove the foley, you will start to feel better. They have removed the foley and I've been doing a couple laps around the floor every hour or so... No feeling very bad at all. Now I just feel really bloated. They have been giving me taradol for pain since I wont take the morphine.

Congrats! Welcome to the losers bench.

Don't forget to walk and sip.

Thanks Nicole... I finally made it lol.... and you're looking good in your pics ...

Thank you Cmt7831.... I don't think its the pain meds that we're making me nauseated because I was barely using it. The morphine kept me sleeping so I didn't want to go to sleep.. They have been giving me anti-nausea medication sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Any way I'm feeling a million times better today and waiting on some water (YAY !!!) and for them to remove the foley.

So glad your feeling better!! Water is good!!

Congrats to everyone that has been sleeved and everyone on their way to it! i will be havin it done at univ of chicago... i did my 6 months at st james center for bariatrics in olypia fields but they only do bypass and lapband there so had to get referral... the surgeon suggested i get the DS however im afraid of rerouting so he said i could do it in 2 stages... sleeve first and if i have good weight loss i wont have to do the 2nd part of rerouting... at univ of chicago u have to ho thru a 1 day PREP group class before u can have the surgery... the phych told me it fills up very fast and the next one available is 10/21.... i was hoping to be able to get into the sep class but no such luck... hopefully the time will fly by..

Hey lesmarie, I am having my surgery at U of Chicago and it is the best and they are so nice. Angela will be so helpful with any questions you may have. They don't make you do a lot and it does seem to go fast. Go to the hospital website and you can see all the information that you will receive. Just make sure you get everything done that needs to be done before prep because after prep you will get setup for your meeting with the nurse, do blood work, and consent & nutrition class then it will be time. I wish you all the luck. I am glad to see someone else at U of Chicago with me.

I don't have him but I know someone who did and said he is the best.

Hi Mocha!! Thanks for the well wishes! I hope everything goes great for you also... what is your date?

Well tomorrow is my time and I am full of different emotions but the one that stands out right not is excited. It may change to something else later this evening. I have put myself on a liquid diet for two days and this is the last day of it. I have really been feeling hungery and that is really strange for me because some days I can go the entire day and not eat until late in the evening. I have been drinking liquids all day and lunch has been cream of chicken soup and I think I will have more tonight as my last meal before surgery but boy would I love a bacon double cheeseburger from Wendy's. Cant wait to see the other side.
