Any Tampa General (FL) Sleevers out there? pre-or-post?

Hi Everyone, I just got verbal approval to have my sleeve surgery and am waiting for the written letter so we can set the date :D It will be done by Dr John Gonzalvo at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa FL, hopefully sometime in June. I would like to find others who had it done there, or plan to have it done there and compare notes and form our own little support network with someone who has been there (literally) and dealt with the same place and people, etc. Please introduce yourself. I look forward to "meeting" you. -Thank you, Brenda

Brenda, I send you a private message before I saw this thread. I actually had surgery at Brandon Regional, but wish I had gone to Tampa General. My wife had her surgery done by Doctor Murr at Tampa General, and I was there for most of her care. Tampa has an entire unit for bariatric patients, meaning all the nursing staff, and techs, and everyone, will know the best way to react to anything you have. Going through the process is much easier at Tampa General, and you get a much clearer picture of everything that is going to happen, and exactly what you are paying for there. Had I not worked for Brandon Regional, and had I not cared about the drive to Tampa General, I would have had my surgery there. They will treat you extremely well.

Thank you for sharing that information!! I feel better about it!

My mother in law also had her surgery there, and she had nothing but good to say about Tampa General. I sometimes think I should kick myself for not doing the same. If it where not for things going to well for me right now, I probably would.
