My wt in dec was 360 by surg I was down to 295, I was able to go home in about 24hr. Thing have gone well my issue is getting enough Protein in my discharge order said to drink no more than 30ml per 30 min and to drink 1.5 litters of Water and most Protein drinks have about 42grams in 500 ml I don't think the math works, not sure what to do and I do understand that the Protein Drink count as part of my intake

Welcome rich. I'm not sure I understand the question or the arithmetic !! Keep sipping Water

it's more important in the first days ! Can you call your dr. And get clarification ? I used powdered Protein and less skim milk in it early out, I didn't know they counted towards liquids I was trying to drink 64 oz Water and three shakes a day with a new sleeve it was a struggle. Hang in there it gets easier!!!

all liquids count towards that 64 oz goal my doc said...even popcicles....personally i used Isopure to help. specifically grape and fruit punch (tasted like watery kool aid) i added it to my Water for flavor and Protein. 20 oz bottle had 40 whey Proteins in it. so i would take 10oz of isopure and 10 oz of water mixed 2 times a day....got 40 gram protein and 40 oz of water. then i had 2 Atkins shakes over the course of the day for another total of 30 more proteins and 22 oz of Fluid. and if i made that goal early on i was happy. more water and i was estatic. but at least i was hitting my goals of water and protein for the day in a total of 4 drinks. isopure i found at GNC and vitamen shoppe. hope that helps.....i still have issues getting my fluids even now .....but proteins i can find pretty well in good foods

I was on Clear Liquids for the first three days (including surgery day). Then full liquids for 3 weeks. Don't worry about drinking ALL of the Protein Drink this early in the process. Just continually sip, and take in a much Protein drink as you an comfortably tolerate. My Dr wanted me to set a goal for 30 gm of protein per day for the first week, then raise the goal to 60/day. I RARELY get in 60/ay even now, but I am mindful of it and keep trying. Don't be too hard on yourself. Just keep sippin.'

I usually drink two Premier Protein shakes a day. Each shake is 30 oz of Protein. Each shake is 11 oz of liquid. So the two shakes total 22 oz of Fluid. I drink 32 oz of flavored water. For some reason I have had a hard time with just plain Water since the surgery. It does not take much more liquid to reach the goal of 64 oz per day. This system has worked for me since leaving the hospital. Hope this helps!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
