Oh wow! I'm feeling rather frustrated. It's been 3 weeks and I've only lost 15. I'm following guidelines and got back to the gym last week.

Is this progress normal?

Wow! 15 pounds in three weeks?! That is awesome!!! That is more than half a pound a day! If you search this site, some people don't even come close to that in an entire month. I think you're doing fantastic and wish you continued success!

I am 9 days Post-Op and am down 15 lbs.

I was told I cannot begin 'working out' (high impact cardio, running, etc) until week 6 and then to start out light.

I am still on Soups, smoothies, etc for another 8 days then I transition to soft, pureed foods.

My first month i lost 24 lbs. Each person is different in their weight loss, and 15 lbs in a month in nothing to laugh at. Think, whens the last time you lost 15lbs in a month? My doc told my hubby, who had his sleeve 5 months before i did, that some people drop all their weight the first 6 months, while other are still losing 2 years later. So there really is no "normal". Just what's "normal" for you. You are doing great! Just remember, the slower you lose it, the less lose skin you will have to contend with!

Curry and magpie, feeling better already. I guess I expected going back to work looking like a new person but this new outlook is much better! Never even thought of the skin problems!!

Thank you so much for the kind words and attitude adjustment!

Also we are all starting at different weights, have different body types, and males tend to lose weight faster. I think that we sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves by comparing. I know I couldn't have lost what I have so far with out the sleeve and for that I am grateful.

As stated above, starting weight definitely makes a big difference. I started at 360 and was extra morbidly obese; I had a lot to lose. 188 lb today at 17% body fat. Good place to be and easy to maintain. However, Trying to drop 15 lb fat and gain 5 lb lean muscle in next 4 months.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
