I have not had surgery yet, but people are always coming up to me and asking how I get such long, thick, and shiny hair...I would look at them seriously and say I stick to a strict diet (bahhaha), then snicker as I am waddling away ;-)

HELP!!!!!!!

Looking for a good Shampoo and conditioner for my frizzy, dry, lack luster hair. I'm 4 & 1/2 months out and it was falling out bad but it's starting to slow down. I can't find anything to help with the dull, frizzy hair.

I am NOT ridiculing her by no means...... I did NOT mean to sound like that! I was/AM the FRIZZ queen. I can wash my hair let it dry naturally and hubby is freaked/AMAZED , I am WORSE than Janis Joplin.............. X10,,, until I flat Iron my hair............then he is like WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously if you have FRIZZY hair like I DO TO THE MAX... get you a FLAT Iron and the FLAT IRON SPRAY. OR go to a hairdresser in your area................. YOU WILL LOVE YOUR hair after u will see what a FLAT IRON with the proper sprays can do................. I go from OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG to WOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW in about 45 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!! I can send u the flat iron i use............... if you want........... it is AMAZING!!!!!

I'm a hair dresser and you lose 150-250 hair strands per day... That's normal and I freaked out as well... And if you start losing hair at 2-2.5 months out its due to all the Vitamins that had been stored before the surgery are completely out of ur system at that point... Just make sure you use a leave in conditioner and take biotin... Do not not not use Pantene pro v... That will coat the hair and dry it out from within... It may feel fine but it's basically suffocating ur hair and when ur hair is in a fragile state it will make it worse... And if you start thinning buy nioxin.... It's a Hair loss product line that if u use it then you won't continue to thin... It does wonders...

I know everyone says the hair will come back and I'm so glad to hear it, but I already have such thin hair... My hair is thin enough that you can see my scalp on the top of my head. Has anyone else on this site, who started with very thin hair, had the sleeve, and how did you deal with the Hair loss? I did 't lose any hair when I had my lapband surgery, but I know if my hair thinned anymore, it would be very, very noticeable and would be a challenge at work.

Trudyjo, go online and search for hair fibers or keratin fibers. These are tiny fibers in a powder that u apply to thinning hair (attaches to individual strands to bulk them up) and it fills in the gaps. Won't come out in wind or rain, just when u Shampoo. Does work, hopefully will be just what u need to get u through :-)

My hair stylist also recommended not washing your hair everyday. Normally when I wake up in the AM on day 2 my hair is super greasy so a dry Shampoo does wonders. I also do a vinegar rinse once a week, which is suppose to help balance your scalps ph and encourage regrowth.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
