At my post op appt Friday they said it was normal. It is bc of the deep stitch in the abdomen. I am two weeks tomorrow too and they said it could last until week 3 or 4. Hoping not. I go back to work tomorrow.

Anyone else around my date returning to work?

I went back after two weeks wish I had 3 weeks.

I was sleeved June 25th, went to work July 1st and 2nd for a few hours and resumed my normal work hours on July 8th.

Btw I'm the dean at my school and we are having a summer program so it's not a desk job, as long as students are there I'm walking around, there's no time for sitting... but I really feel like I'm back to normal. My Dr is just as surprised by my progress as I am!

I have a red rash on my stomach along where I injected my lovenox (blood thinner) shots. My doctor had me do self injections for two weeks after surgery. Just as I was finishing my last day of injection' date=' a red splotch appeared, similar to hives. Then it appeared on the other side of my stomach two days later. Anyone ever have this? I tried hydrocortisone and drinking benedryll but it didn't help. I called my doctors office yesterday and I'm waiting for a call back. The rash/hives are super itchy![/quote']

I had it was told to take Benadryl by ARNP. Got some liquid took it a couple of nights and it was gone.

Hello everyone so glad to see all the positive feedback ! I have a question for those who are post op I finally get to start my purée stage tomorrow so happy but I have no clue as to what is considered a purée food I can only eat about 6-10 spoons food Protein Shakes have been going good and Water intake fine all Vitamins in but I'm finally able to eat and I have to admit I'm nervous I don't want to end up bringing it back up ! Any suggestions would be very very appreciated! Thanks you all for the support

The best for me has been cottage cheese-low far small curd, light and fit yogurt, no fat refried Beans, and cream Soups. I had split pea yesterday but had to put it through the blender first to make it real creamy.

Hi Lirpa' date=' For lunch I had a 4oz unsweetened applesauce cup, 1/2 of a ripe avocado (mashed) about 4oz; for dinner I had a 4oz can of "Underwood chicken spread" which is chopped chicken...I pureed it with a little bit of apple sauce, very watery, but oh so good!!! With those foods and the one shake I had for Breakfast I reached 73g Protein today! I have an 8oz cup of skim milk starting about a half hour after each meal too....of course it takes me over an hour for each meal, lol

Today I bought bananas, strawberries, pears, yellow squash, butternut squash, and potatoes...all of which will be pureed/mashed for parts of my meals....I got the canned chicken, some canned ham, Vienna sausages, tuna and Salisbury steaks (those are mainly for my son but I may try to puree one in a few days for myself), lol....I also got natural Peanut Butter to add to a chocolate shake if I want to, and applesauce...

For breakfast tomorrow, I wanted to have eggs...but realized I forgot to buy them today lol......so I will figure something out--proteins first though Lol...

What did you have today?? What are you planning?[/quote']

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for the info Although I want more to eat it seems when I'm eating food, puréed I can only eat abt 2-3 Tablespoons of whatever before I'm full. Ok, so today I had 1/2 cup of Protein Shake that has 16 protein and for lunch I had abt 1/2 container of yogurt, Greek , but for dinner, yes, someone suggested pureeing Wendy's chili. I tried it and have had no problems with it and I loved it. Only abt 3 TBSP. I can't seem to get all the liquid down and eating enough protein too. I know that's why I'm not losing very fast. I'm not eating enough calories/protein.. My husband BBQ some marinated chicken filets and I'm going to purée them with unsweetened applesauce. That sounds so good.

So let me ask, for breakfast you had a full cup of shake? How long does it take you to drink it. How are you getting all your Water too? Oh, I love Adams peanut butter, that's a great suggestion..

Me too but my doctor is really calm and said as the internal swelling goes down I will be able to take in more. He said to focus on fluids first.

Lol....it takes about 40 minutes for the 8 oz shake....but I am usually moving around doing things then sip some, and back and forth.....I have been getting in all my liquids....my dr counts the applesauce as a Fluid, and the skim milk too so that helps!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
