Had final mtg with surgeon before surgery -- scheduled for June 6. Was able to cut 4 days off liquid diet (10 days instead of 14...WHOOP WHOOP!) because I lost some weight since my first dr's visit...

The countdown has begun!!!

15 days!!!

. Mine was at the hospital but in a separate area with sleep number beds and TV.

They look like real small hotel rooms. It'll be fine..

NiqueJ...you were awake for yours?

Yes I was. They sprayed numbing meds in my nose and throat. I was given the option for a mild sedative, but I didn't bring anyone with me. That should be an option... Check in that.

I am an over achiever. I started my pre op diet early and I also started just shakes earlier than I was required. There are a lot of June 6 dates on here. Il that is cool

June 17th for me - lapband revision. I should be excited but I'm not - after failure with the band' date=' just hoping to find something that works for me.[/quote']

I am so there with you. I too am revising my lap band. I am afraid of this failing, but also excited at having another chance. I lost 114 pounds with the lap bands. Got the flu and threw up 8 times in 6 hours. I would take the phenergan and then throw it up again. Manger to slip the band out of place. Then gained 50 back. Went through 5 months of take all the Fluid out, put in, take it out.... I just ready to be done with that and embrace the sleeve.

Uugghhh surgery date changed to June 11th 2 days after I started my preop :(

You can do this ..just a small delay when there are many people not fortunate enough to get the surgery done. ..remember your cup is half full not half empty...

Started my two week liquid diet this morning! Omg, I'm already starving. It really plays with your mind, knowing you can't eat. Lord, give me strength to make it thru.

It will get better after a few days. Keep focused and stay in control of your brain. You will definately notice how many food commercials are on TV!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
