So, as the weight and inches come off, the happier I seem to be. More and more people are noticing my weight loss.

My BFF wants to Celebrate my 50 pound mark. However, I don't know how to Celebrate without food or spending money (even though a pedicure sounds amazing right now)!

How do you all celebrate without food and without spending money?!

Thanks!

Nikki

I go through my closet and pull all the too big clothes out.

I'd be interested to see people's answers to this also. I've looked at it as being its own reward. I've cut the BP med dosage in half and will hopefully be off it soon. What more reward do I need than that?

I treat myself to mani/pedis and things like that...nothing major. A new piece of clothing (when I need it), or just a little "me" time!

My 50lbs goal I'll get back on a horse and hope it doesn't groan and when I hit final goal I'm using my $300 4 season spa (downtown Seattle) gift card my boss gave me. I've held on to it in fear they'll claim I'll break the table .. And I'm not kidding you it's a sincere fear of mine..even before this came out

I've been tracking my BP. It has dropped 15 points on average! That is amazing! I can't wait to be off medication completely!!

It's alarming to now realize just how much I celebrated with food before this whole sleeve surgery! So thinking up fun things to do besides eat is a challenge.

I love the massage idea but I worry that I'll scare off the staff with my saggy skin!

I was a massage therapist and it didn't matter to me if a client was fat/thin/saggy skin/young/old. I just wanted to give them the best massage experience I could. And I think most massage therapists feel the same. So I wouldn't worry about loose skin, they are happy to have you on the table. :)

I celebrated my one year anniversary by walking an extra mile, because I could!

I've noticed that there are a lot of people posting accomplishments on FB and seeing how many likes they can get. Easy, free of cost.

I like buying underwear right now. Like cute ones that don't come in a package! ;)

I'm a clinical MT. The people in the worst shape, are the ones who need my help the most. A massage was my 100 pound reward. Talk about saggy skin! The therapist was more interested in info about my surgery than she was in my excess skin.

I have been buying new exercise clothes. I feel cute in them when I exercise and it's a positive way to reward myself and support my new lifestyle. I have also scheduled a monthly girls night I really look forward to. And agree...buying new undies is a joy!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
