The dreaded 3 week stall...

I stopped losing weight at about 3 weeks post op, and the scale hasn't moved since. It's been holding steady and pissing me off. How long do I need to wait? How do I get the scale moving again????

Protein seems to be the key to stopping my stalls. I read from someone that when they stall they go back to meat and Protein Drinks until the stall ends. I tried it with my last stall and after 8 days of not dropping a pound I dropped 4 over night. I don't know if it was just time for it to end or the protein is what helped. I do know I'm going to try it again with my next stall... Good luck!!

I set my timer to remind my self to eat every two hours and its working,the key is eating,and also i stop walking on my treadmill for a while and it started moving faster,i know that crazy,i will start back soon just watching my body now,and also you could be losing inches that will not show on the scale..so hang in there it will start back soon,

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
