Hope all is good, keep us posted.

As for this topic, I bite my tounge and try to keep it to myself. We all had a problem with food, hence the surgery. Making excuses as to why you ate something that you shouldnt and looking for people to say poor you is not going to come from me.

I guess I couldn't bite any longer.

There's nothing wrong with cheeseburgers, especially if you have them with some popcorn and wash them down with a nice cocktail.

Speaking of pop corn... Those of you who are father out... Is this something you can tolerate some of? I'm not a bi popcorn person but once in a while liked to have a handful or so. I was wondering about it lol. Thanks for reminding me.

I'm freaking myself out a little today bc I held up the corner of the mattress/box spring yesterday when the bf fixed a slat (2weeka post op). (held up not lifted) didn't think anything of it until this morning when I realized it was probably more than my 15 pound weight limit. Now I'm just waiting for some significant pain or something to indicate I jacked something up. I'm an idiot I know.

Yes, but it slides really easy meaning your sleeve will not feel restriction from eating it. I had a small popcorn at the theatre a month ago just to see if I could eat it. I could. The whole bag. And it was not even as good as I remembered it. At least I know now how easy it is to eat and, best of all, I don't like it all that much. Left me feeling nasty greasy on the inside too. I was chugging veggy drinks later that evening to detox it out of my body. That being said, I would still probably love pirates booty and caramel popcorn so am not going to eat those. Just my two bits on it.

Sorry to hear that Nicole. Hope you feel better.

You're having this problem because of the whole straw thing, right? :P

This is the part I strggle with, too. Whatever I decide to do with regard to deviation (cheating sounds so ridiculous to me) from stage, I would never suggest to anyone - especially a newbie - that they follow my example. I could not live with myself if someone ate something because I said I did it and was fine only to learn that they suffered some complication later. Even if the two were totally unrelated I would feel terrible. I also don't jump on anyone for their choice. They make the choice - as do I - and they alone live with the consequences. That being said, God really does seem to take care of fools. A woman in my office had the bypass and ate fried cabbage and steak 8 days out from surgery. She also commenced smoking immediately and has returned to her regular Coke habit. She lives. And has lost at least 60 pounds. But I know that had I done any of those things, there would have been dire consequences. That is just the way it goes.

It's the telling the other people at the same stage.

"Go on its fine, look at me" that gets me because at the end of the day I don't care what you say WE ALL HAD A PROBLEM WITH food.

And we are still weak over the power we let it hold over us :(

Oh yeah then there is the death thing yeah?

popcorn. Once my lifeline. White popcorn popped on the stove the old fashion way. I am two months out and was cleared to have it. I have had it twice, and have been very careful, counting it as my meal. I am well aware, from numerous posts, that it slides down and can be a trigger. If you are a popcorn lover, just be aware of this and tread carefully. It tasted as good as ever. Ate slowly and savored every bite..... maybe two cups. Had no ill effects.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
