I just threw a napkin at my husband :(

Laura, break up the Easter Egg and have a little piece every now and then and don't feel guilty! As long as you don't eat it in one hit there's no need to feel guilt and sometimes just that little piece is enough to get it out of your head.

I recent that!!! what you got against pork? You Jewish or something? I kid that's good that you spent time with them and didn't let food win

Ha! Why bother with a pork bun when there are yummy things like fish paste dumplings and BBQ chicken feet!

But really the pork bun would of been too filling and I wanted a bit of everything :D

Oh Aussie, I wish my head worked that way!

But at the moment I have to admit I'm not that strong... I would of eaten it all in one hit :P

No worries though, my gracious husband took care of the offending egg yesterday :D

My husband is very supportive. BUT...sometimes he needs to think before he speaks!!! He swears I'm going to have a terrible sprain of my middle finger! LOL

If I had a nickle for every time I "sprained my middle finger" at the stb-ex, I would have been able to pay cash for my surgery....

See.. right there I disagree..you are that strong, you didn't eat it. You wanted it, but you held back. Looks like strength to me. Look, there's not a day that goes by that even after 20 years, I don't think that I couldn't easily slide back into my old lifestyle. I don't mean food wise either. But I use that as my strength. I know its out there, I know it isn't any problem at all to obtain and no one would ever really know..but I know, and I know that I (we) deserve better. Is it hard?, oh hell yeah, but can you beat it... yep you can. You aren't too far from where you want to be, and I wouldn't be stupid enough to blow smoke up your bloomers and tell you that it is all easypeasy, but you've come far and you are almost there. You are strong or you wouldn't have gotten this far now would you? Yep family doesn't get it, husband (or my stb-ex) isn't as supportive as we'd like sometimes. Speed bumps....don't let them drive the bus, you drive it...no one is really going to understand, because they don't live with it every day. You know you can do this.... :)

Ok John,

Usually I hate being wrong.. But in this case I will concede and say you are right. It wasn't pretty but I did do it!.

We are getting there though aren't we John? :)

Oh and by the way I stopped wearing bloomers

Several months ago and I am proudly wearing regular girls panties now :P

Can you guys keep a secret??? After to talking to John up there I was walking past the hall upstairs and I have a growing pile of clothes that are meant to be thrown out. I pulled out from that pile a pair of pants that I wore before the surgery

And put them on:D I'm glad I didn't eat that stupid egg!! Then I put on my newest jeans after:D yes f**k that egg!

You look fantastic!!

And since I'm not willing to put into writing the variety and weight of things that I have thrown at my (very supportive) husband in the last 3 days since starting my liquid diet, I will simply say, I understand. :)

If I had a dollar for everytime I threw something at my husband I could have self paid for my surgery without blinking an eye... I am over exagerating but you get the point... My darling husband (supportive as he is) has a VERY hard time thinking before he speaks... He makes me NUTS!

Luckily it was only a napkin!... I think my husband would be happy with a napkin!

Actingnurse,

I love you dude. But I gotta tell you when you find the right girl, you will know why!

Marriage when entered into with with a loving commitment is a wonderful thing!

Yes I got upset the other day, but we are committed to love and respect each other and we are so lucky to have this person at our side as we go through all of life's changes!

It's really a great concept if you think about it, I think its so cool to live side by side and experience life with another person up until the end :)

Yes I know I threw a napkin :P but that was a baby tantrum because I wanted to cheat (myself)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
