As far as my physical health I would be amazed and disgusted that my weight has gotten so out of control. In high school I was a major athlete so its hard to imagine my 175 frame has gotten to 252 (320 high). I would like the family and motherhood stuff though.

Disgusted that I got fat. Surprised by the career field I went in to, but happy with the success I've had in it. Very, very surprised I ever got married, let alone in my early 20s.

Happy that I've finally taken a solid step to better health and a smaller body. Very surprised at the career I am in, but happy about it. Very surprised at who I married(I knew him when we were 18, but had no interest in him at all).

I guess overall the 18 YO me would be surprised at who the 43 YO me is. But happy with it.

I have always been a big girl but at 18 I would have been a size 12/14. I was dignosed with hyperthyroidism at 22 after the birth of my first child...If I had of been diagnosed at 18 i may not have gotten so big... but then again...I always liked my food!:hungry:

Pretty much pleased, I think; no real surprises. Well, I guess surprise that I've been married twice, but the first one was so short I'd give myself props for practicing until I got it right. And probably surprised that I'm a surburban insurance broker rather than working in NYC at a nonprofit or in the arts.

I'd be proud of myself for quitting smoking, having had a great job for many years, and for finally taking good enough care of myself to be healthy for my two daughters as they grow. I think, overall, my 18-year-old self would be pretty chuffed for my 45-year-old self. :biggrin1:

Very surprised that I live three states away from all my friends and family. Also that I married a wonderful man I met online! Plus my success of weightloss thus far. And that I am a home owner and tax payer and like staying home and just chillin!

The 18 yo me would have been shocked that the 35 yo me is not more financially successful...even thou i'm in the field I always wanted to be in, horrified that i'm divorced and amazed that I had the balls to do it and raise my kids by myself...pretty disappointed i got fat and proud that i did something to get the weight off.

The 18 yr old me would have never imagined I woud be divorced and in the career field I chose. She would not have dreamed I would be as successful as I am. She thought I would stay married, raise babies, and be a housewife. I've always been overweight but she would not believe I gained as much as I did. I think she would be shocke and appalled...but I like me better now. Katt

What a cool question!

I know that the girl I was at 18 would be shocked at how I had let myself go physically. I did not start to get really, super heavy until just over a couple of years ago when I quit smoking, and boy oh boy did I get heavy!!!! I know that I would be very proud of me in other ways though. Especially these days as now I have successfully become a "non-smoking, healthy eater!

How about you, Telly?

Kat.

The 18 yr old me would be stunned at my weight at this point; I was always racing somewhere and weighed only about 120. She'd be pleased to see that I got to be in research like she wanted, and surprised mightily by a 21 year marriage with two kids. She thought the house with the picket fence was gonna have just her inside! :) She'd be laughing her ass off that I turned into someone's Mom! :pound:

My 18 year old self would be shocked. I weigh less now then I did then and I finally feel comfortable with myself. I dont have to hide behind all black clothing and make my parents worry because I am so deppressed. I would not be surprised by my husband. I met him at 16 and fell head over heals in love. It was a rough ride though. It took a while for him to totally commit. But we have been married now for 10 years and have two awesome little boys. So I think my 18 year old self would be very pleased with how things turned out. I know I am!

I was my 18 yr. old self 6 years ago. I would be proud that I am still happily married to the man I married that year. I would be disappointed that I hated college so I quit. I would be shocked that we already have 2 children, but then be very happy with how happy we are. I would be glad that I am able to stay home with my children. Overall I think that I would be happy with the life I have created with my husband. Oh I would not believe that I live in Germany!!

Now there is food for thought!!!

The 18 yr. old girl that I new,, well if she seen what I have been through my whole life.. She would be shocked to see me still alive..{major medical problems} On the flip side of that coin,, she no's I won't go down in the fight. That's why I am still here today. Should have died by 18 or 21 the

Dr.'s say. I'm 52 now, and here to prove them wrong. "YES!" Besides that girl who new me, also would no, she is for ever cool. She's married 30 yrs.

"yes to the same man" "I get that a lot!" Adopted 2 sons grown n moved on, and has 2 grand sons, and works. I think she did all right. Shirley

Hmmm, interesting question. Like many others, she would be shocked to see that I allowed myself to go into such depression over my first marriage that I ate myself fat. She would be disappointed to learn that I chose marriage at age 19 instead of college, yet pleased that I am sticking by my convictions, working as a database specialist for a non-profit and helping kids. She would also be pleased that I finally stood up for myself, found a man who loves me and treats me like a princess and took charge of my health by having lapband surgery.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
