Nutrician drink that's worked for me

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I am trying to share this as much as possible because I've had so much success with it. Moringa is a tree that grows so many miles from the equator and is used in countries where they are fighting malnutrition epidemics with phenomenal success. It also regulates blood sugar, cholesterol blood pressure, is an anti-inflammatory, and much more. In addition it is the most nutrient rich product available. There is a YouTube video that is a documentary from the Discovery Channel which is very interesting. It has like 92 nutrients and 2 times (gram for gram) the amount of Protein in milk, I believe it's like 4 times the Calcium in milk, 7 times the Vitamin C in an orange, and 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots, plus much more.

Anyway, the reason I'm sharing it is because I was sleeved in October. I've done great, however, started losing my hair in copious amounts about 4 months post op. It was not possible for me to add another medication to my already 15 I was taking daily as I was having a hard enough time swallowing what I had plus getting in my protein. So I researched alternative medicine and found Moringa. I've been taking it for two weeks now. Not only am I not losing anymore hair, but I'm completely off all my medications except one. That's 14 to be exact. I have been on asthma medication daily since I was a little girl and no longer need it nor have I had to use my rescue inhaler. I have osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, planar fasiitis, and herniated discs in my neck and no longer take any of those meds nor have I felt better since I was a teenager. I can't say enough good things about it. I took a leap of faith because I was spending $300 plus on pharmaceutical medications, Vitamins, ect. and I knew I couldn't afford those and Moringa, (It's approx $50-100 a month) but now I will be saving lots of money by not having to fill the other meds or buy all the vitamins and supplements. I even called my bariatric surgeon and told him that I thought he should look into it and consider recommending it for his patients because we lose so much (no pun intended:)

I have done lots of research on this and can try to answer any questions, but here are the websites that I use the most and found the best info and best bang for the buck. Most of the perteniant information about Moringa is on both of these websites and there are video's including the documentary on both too. (I just checked to make sure:)

I hope I can help and hope this can help many others as it's helped me.

Moringa tastes like ass, any suggestions as far as what to mix it with?

It is nasty for sure at first. However, what I did was I added more Water and organic pinapple juice. You can add apple juice too, but they say it's best if you add pinapple something about the enzymes. As far as the Protein Powder, it would probablly cover the taste, I've never tried it. Zija sells a Moringa Protein power in chocolate and vanilla too, but I've never had them. The trick is that you have to suck it up and drink it even if it's little by little to build up and eventually you'll like it. My kids hated it and my husband was like, can I mix it with alcohol to kill the taste...lol but they all love it now.

I bought the moringa powder on Amazon by Global Moringa for $19.48. Got here in like 4-5 days.

I've taken it for 2 days, haven't noticed much yet, I did end up feeling strange for the first hour after taking it. But I feel fine now. It did go through my system quick, when I went to the restroom, it was green.... Lol

It is a detoxifier it will do that for about a week. Ive never taken anything but zija so I don't know how the other products work but within a week I was no longer losing hair and within 2 I was off my meds. Long term benefits are a healthier you. You won't be deprived of nessecary nutrients because the moringa will pick up where your body drops off and balance you out. It's also very good for your skin, anti ager, anti wrinkle etc ...it is just amazing my kids used to get sick several times if not stay sick in the winter....not once this time not once but all their friend did, not them.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
