Thank you so much. It is getting easier and your right nothing beats moms cooking but yes having to explain to your parents is hard, but I'm glad that both of our mom's understand exactly what we are trying to do and is helping us do it also.

Parents are complicated!!! I asked my mom out to eat - just to spend time with her and she asked how much I planned to eat!!! I was like really??? I just want to see how are things. Then she asks if I'm moving back in? Uhh, i love my folks but small doses are enough, I can only imagine the ordeal of eating at home. I think they could make me regret my decision. But so far so good. The only thing I've found is when I tell people I went to Mexico they feel I either cheated to get it done quickly or that I'm insane for going to such a horrible place (sad thing is, I'm a Mexican !). They don't seem to understand that for me this was the best choice and only choice at this point. No regrets.

Many might be having surgery for the first time, and don't realize how it affects the body and how long it takes to recover. Then we have the change of eating habits added to this to make it harder.

I am just waking up to my fourth day post-op. I can't say that I regret it but I am hurting. I did not expect to be so uncomfortable. I came home yesterday and wanted to go go go and my body said sit the hell down. I just vomited for the first time because I drank to much Water trying to get a pill down. I am so excited at what lies ahead of me, it is just getting through these next few weeks that I believe will be my greatest struggle.

I can't imagine getting in all the water and shakes I have to because I have no desire to put anything in my mouth. I am guilty of not asking enough people what this would be like... I didn't want to get talked out of it. The few people that are a ways out post op all had great things to say and I am just trying to keep it positive!

The sleeve like any wls is painful. You have to really do your homework before committing to it. If you go into this half committed you've already taken a step back. Its worth the pain of healing.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
