Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Recommended Posts

Try Dr. Michael Snyder, he is outstanding! Only Dr. I know that provides you with his personal e-mail and cell phone number! Check him out.

Yeah, Dr K gave me his personal cell phone number too. Dr K is the best in my book! He has so much experience with laprascopic procedures that he would have been my only choice. Being as big as I was - I needed someone with vast experience in that area. I have never been more pleased with the care I've received from him and his staff.

Sweet!! Thank you so much! I am going to call the office tomorrow and see if I can sneak in an afternoon appt. You are awesome and I will let you know!

Marie is the sweetest! I met her when she came for a fill a year or so ago!

Marie, we haven't met yet, but I'd be happy to drive you to and from your appointment. Either day works for me, though the 27th would be awesome because I am catching a flight that evening anyway. Let me know.

I think we should meet for a quick drink - or bite - or anything before you fly out. But I'll be in NYC that week.

I hope this fill is good for you!

Well folks!

Long time no post!

I have been busy trying to get to my final goal! ARGH! It seems so close yet so far! I'm sure Julie knows that feeing, right Julie? You're so close to that 100lbs lost! It's insane!

I am about to schedule my next plastic surgery procedures. I need my total face lift with neck tightening and my breasts lifted and augmented.

I look at myself in the mirror and I see such an old lady. My skin is so deflated! Regardless, I am still in love with my smaller frame!

I hope everyone is well!

We need to plan a Red Robin night for this month - How about Monday May 17th or Tuesday May 18th?

Anyone interested?:)

Man... insane doesn't even come close. It is just down right aggravating for me :o

How cool.....

I know what you mean. I still have a lot to lose (and I am proud of how far I have come.... believe me) but I look in the mirror and feel such discontent. I guess knowing that plastic surgery is most likely going to be out of the picture for me (between finances and having no one to take care of Kayleigh for me) I guess I just don't know how to make lemonade,,,huh??? :)

But..... I am sooooo glad for you. I know you have worked harder than I have even considered, and you so deserve to be happy with your new body. OK, OK, I'll admit it..... I'm sooooo jealous of how far you've come. Yayyyyyyy Dee. :hurray:

I hope everyone is well!

Oh, tell me about it! I know! Boy do I know! I toyed with that 200lb loss for months and months! I'd get within a pound even and then the next day I'd be up two! It was so frustrating!:)

Well, It's time - almost anyway!

You know Plastics would have been out of the question for me too, if I hadn't found Dr Sauceda. I just don't have the money. This time around I am going to borrow from my 403B. I can borrow 50% of what is in there - pay it back within 5 years at 4% interest and the interest is given to my account. I feel it's a win/win situation. AND I have no other way of paying for my surgeries!:hurray:

Either works for me too! I guess we can see what everyone else has to say!

You know Julie, I would be willing to help with your daughter if you could come up with the money for surgery. I work full time, but we could work out some type of schedule and maybe with some other help, we could manage it! I'd love for you to be able to reap all of the benefits of your hardwork.

Anyone interested?

BTW Missy! What are you doing up so late?:wink2:

May 17 or 18 works for me too. I'd have to miss a workout class, but I would make that sacrifice to see you guys :)

So I really want to work out the 27th thing, but all they have are morning appointments. I would hate to make you spend all day out and about. If you aren't against picking me up early you can just drop me at the office, and then you can pick me up on your way to the airport later so you don't have to hang with me for 6 hours. What time do you need to be to the airport by? that way I can try and get a flight around the same time :scared2: I can get a flight that comes in around 10 so I can get to my 11:30 appt with Tom, and then I can just find a flight that leaves around the same time as yours. Thanks!!!

Yep... I am bouncing between 89 and 96 pounds lost.

I look at myself in the mirror and I see such an old lady. My skin is so deflated! Regardless, I am still in love with my smaller frame!

Good thing you have those options. That is great! And you are right... it IS a win/win for you.

I hope everyone is well!

That is so sweet. :tt1: Careful what you say... I may actually take you up on it. (it really may be an option for me to get some help to take care of her)

I am still planning on going to see Dr W in Denver for a plastics consult. I am hoping he may be able to push it through my insurance for the hernia(s) I have. Maybe you can tell me....does he do free consultations?? (this is who you saw, correct?)

Marie, Whatever time works for you is fine with me. I only live 20 minutes from the airport, so it's really not a big deal to drive you both ways and then go again later. I don't live far from Dr. K's office.

ok, I think I'm going to have to scrap my whole getting a fill at the end of may idea, the tickets are just too expensive so I am going to try for the first week in June. I have vouchers I can use toward a ticket with frontier. I will just have to figure it out I guess. Thanks you for being so willing to drive me though!! I really do appreciate it!

Ok, so my husband insisted that I go get a fill because he knows that I am dying here. So I got a flight for the 27th, I will land at 9:15 and you can pick me up anytime it is convenient and my appointment is at 11:30. Then my flight out is at 3. Thanks so much for putting up with my on again off again issues!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
