Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Recommended Posts

I am so close to ONEderland and my goal weight for this challenge is a big milestone. My goal weight is 185 and that will put me at the -100lb mark. I can't even imagine!

I like weighing in on Monday's that is when I do my personal weigh in so it is ideal for me.

Thanks for keeping track Bella!

Monday weigh-in sounds fine to me.

So I've postponed my Denver trip indefinitely. I'm at my sweet spot, I've got good restriction, so I don't need a fill. Why aren't you losing weight, you ask? Because I don't work out. I don't exercise. I'm lazy as can be and I've only lost 22lbs in 5 freaking months. It's disappointing beyond belief, but it's all my fault. There's nothing Dr. K or anyone else can do for me. I'm sabotaging myself by not doing the exercise. I eat right, and I don't eat more than 1200 calories on any given day. I've got perfect restriction, but I should have lost at least double what I've lost by now, and I just haven't. But I only have myself to blame. It's downright depressing that I can't get my ass in gear.

Ugh, sorry just had to vent.

I totally understand how you are feeling~ But if you look at it in the long run you are still losing an average of 1 lb a week. That is still much better than even gaining 1!!! You are going to do fine. Start out with little bits of convenient exercise, like I park further from the store than I used to so that I walk more. It can also be a balancing of your calories. I have to eat close to 1500 a day to keep losing. I had to play around a bit with the numbers before I found the right amount. Good luck, and keep us updated on what you are trying!

Bella,

Please include me in the Memorial Day challenge, my first, thanks for doing all the work! My goal is 15 pounds, and right after Memorial Day we leave on a cruise to Celebrate our 30th anniversary, it would be nice to have to buy some new clothes for that trip! I get my first fill on Tuesday the 7th. I forgot to ask the Doc, do we have food restrictions before or after the fill?

Cheryl

Let's make our first weigh-in on Monday. Does Monday weigh-in's sound good? Everyone who wants to participate please give me their goal weight and I will start a chart.

Thanks Bella!!! How nice of you to follow our weight losses!

Put me down for 20lbs. Is Memorial day on the 25th?

Thanks Julie.ann for doing our last challenge! I lost another 3lbs this last weigh in. So I lost a total of 14lbs during the challenge. Not too bad, not goal, but I'm happy!

Just remember, you're not gaining and still losing. That's okay!

As for exercise, find something you enjoy. Walking, cycling, swimming? Make motivating signs to remind yourself. Remember that there are 3 components to working out. The first is frequency, second is duration and third is intensity. Work on the Frequency first. Even if you do 3 days a week for 10 mins, that is a good thing.

Hey Girlie! I just wanted to say HI! I hope your father is feeling well.

Sorry, I forgot to post my loss yesterday. I was down -3 since Saturday.

Did you make it to Red Robins last night? I live in Littleton and it was bad. There were cars sliding off the road. I decided I better not go. Then around 7pm, everything had stopped! I hate that!

Hello everyone. I haven't posted for months, just thought I would say hello. I have a new job that allows me more home time now so hopefully I can post more.

Hey! Welcome back! Congrats on your new job and your weight loss! You're doing great!!

Dr K doesn't have any pre-fill restrictions, but after he suggests liquids and softs for rest of the day and then take it slow the next day.

I met up with Mini today! I picked her up at her hotel and we went for her fill at Dr. K's. I wanted so badly to see her. I hadn't seen her since her surgery! So I sent her a text, "Wanna ride Pretty Lady?" Pretty Lady indeed! She looks great! I'm so proud of her! We went for the fill, saw Dr. K, Tom, Natalie, Marilyn and Mary! It was great to see everyone! Afterwards we went and had lunch. She had some soup! She was a good girl!

I hope everyone is having a good day!

dee~

My goal for the Memorial day Challenge is 15 pounds. I would love to do more, but I am going back home to MI for 2 weeks, and that tends to mess up my loss. :smile2:

My goal is 14lbs. Maybe that'll help back me into my old work pants so I can stop wearing the same two pairs over and over again! :smile2:

Hey Girlie! I just wanted to say HI! I hope your father is feeling well.

He seems to be doing fine. My parents just met with the neurologist again, and he said that two of the tumors in his brain will be operable IF they grow, if not they aren't going to worry about it. The one that is the biggest though is inoperable because it is too deep inside the center of the brain. It is strange to think of him having surgery again, and that they are bringing it up. It was pretty clear when the Dr said he MIGHT have a year left IF the meds helped slow the growth. Now I am not sure what to think. I want to hope, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Do you get what I'm saying? I'm not sure that I am explaining it too well.

I understand completely what you're saying. I think that would be extremely difficult to deal with - you want to have hope and believe the best will be your outcome, however, you also want to be realistic. My heart goes out to you. Bless you and your family. My prayers are with you, everynight.

Ok, I am going to go for 8.5 lbs for this challenge. I went a little high last time.

I'm always out of control with my goals! It's insane!

OK, count me in for Memorial Day. Since I'm a newbie, I am just gonna guess at a goal. I'll say 15 pounds.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
